The truth is there is nothing we can do about climate change. Cutting back a bit here and there is going to do absolutely nothing. It would take at a minimum, a complete shutdown of modern technology all over the planet. We would essentially have to go back to living as we did before the industrial revolution, and that is not going to happen.

PARIS/LONDON (Reuters) - "Soaring temperatures broke records in Germany, France, Britain and the Netherlands on Thursday as a heatwave gripped Europe for the second time in a month, in what scientists said were becoming more frequent events as the planet heats up.
“There is a 40-50% chance that this will be the warmest July on record. This heatwave is exactly in line with climate change predictions,” said Dr Karsten Haustein at the Environmental Change Institute at the University of Oxford.
Peter Inness, senior research fellow at the University of Reading, said: “The fact that so many recent years have had very high summer temperatures both globally and across Europe is very much in line with what we expect from man-made global warming.”

As with 99% of posts here, it is an opinion, yes. That is what we do here, isn't it? Give our opinions on issues?
When I served, we called the folks that forecasted the weather, weather guessers. They were wrong at least as often as they were right.
In 2018 I retired and on the day of my retirement it was forecast that we would have 6 to 9 inches of snow. I don't know that a single flake fell that day.
Where I live now I watch the weather and the daily calls for rain. The day before yesterday they called for rain between 11 am until 6 pm. Not a drop. They do cover their butts well though. They always qualify it with a percentage. 11- 40% 12- 60% 1-60% 2- 50%, etc.
How do I trust these so called experts to guess what the climate will be 50 years from now when they can't get it right an hour in advance?
The global deniers will be unfazed. It’s their political dogma and not open to scientific methodology or reason. The wealthy elites who fund and propagandize denial will become richer and richer and use their wealth and power and move to the last places on earth which are habitable. For the rest of us things are going to be problematic.
Will you reccomend raising taxes on the Europeans? What dogma do you endorse?
