Francisco Galicia to CNN (through a translator): ‘I don’t speak English but I’m going to learn it’

https://twitchy.com/gregp-3534/2019/...to-learn-it-a/

"Hastings replied that at the Falfurrias checkpoint where Galicia and his younger brother Marlon Galicia were taken into custody, Francisco “claimed to be a Mexican National who was born in Reynosa, Mexico.”

“Throughout the process, and while he was with Border Patrol, he claimed to be a citizen of Mexico with no immigration documents to be in or remain in the U.S.,” Hastings told the members of Congress.

“Upon further investigation we also found that he had a border crossing card and that border crossing card he had used 53 times to cross the border into the U.S., which gives us further indication that he was not a U.S. citizen. At no time in Border Patrol custody did he say that he was a U.S. citizen.”
Did you read the newspaper article on which the social media thing was based?

Hasting obviously lied. Galan, the kids lawyer, has a government document charging the kid with lying about being an American Citizen at the time he was stopped.

There is little if any indication of a crime by the kid. She screwed around with who she was on his birth certificate but that may not even be criminal. The other docs cited are quite harmless and may even be legal. He claimed to be a Mexican, which he is, to get a border pass. Apparently that was perceived as the easiest way to cross the US border. May even be true.

Having to repeat the facts is getting really old. He had what you stated. NOBODY has said otherwise.

They DID check. They got conflicting information. The reason for that is because of his mother falsifying documents.

Payday for what? His mother broke the damn law and you want to see him rewarded?

It doesn't matter what his last name is, but some people can't help pushing that narrative.

He didn't have a passport. His brother and the person with them both stated that they were not citizens. They checked the database and found he once had a visitor's visa. They found documents that conflicted with the ones he provided them - a birth certificate saying he was born in Mexico.

Red flag for normal people. Aww...just let them go and hope for the best for libs.

Sorry. We have laws for a reason. Blame his stupid law-breaking mother.
You guys continue cooking the books to try to refute the truth. Hastings, the CBP wheel, flatly lied. A document from the government charging the kid with claiming to be an American Citizen conclusively proves Hasting was lying.

The visa and stuff is all relatively innocent stuff used to make border crossing easier for a kid who did it all the time. Given the screwed up birth certificate it is likely that getting the kid an American passport would have been difficult and expensive.

And this barring of the lawyer from seeing him is completely insane.

So the real message out of this is that the Border Patrol lies and is quite untrustworthy.

I feel for CBP. They have been overrun - nobody talks about their hardship. And do not mention the political top or head of their union -
They only speak political - not real life.
Well take those kinds of issues and add a few facts, such as they were dealing with teens, two siblings, one of whom said he was a citizen and the other saying he was not, and the database showing conflicting information, and the agents were in a no win situation.

I agree, nobody talks about how hard it is on those people just trying to do their job.

I can count on one hand how many times you've posted something involving the truth. This post isn't one of them.

You of the right are consistent; You tell lies and when called on it you insult.

The Dallas News article half way down has the actual notice to appear served on the kid. It shows that Hastings was lying past any "mistaken" response.

Agreed it was the CBP fault the young man was detained past 48 hrs. it is mom’s fault for making a mess of the documents, it is mrT fault there’s a bottle neck and not enough staff or resources to handle the people with ever changing rules. And the wall which may be built is light years away, least won’t solve any problems of those detainees now. mrT is the author of confusion.

I know, I know - you can't help yourselves, you love the histrionics - 'but this is a citizen!' - 'but...concentration camp!' - 'but 23 days!' - 'but no shower!'

If mommy hadn't engaged in illegal activity - none of this happens.

As far as the agents were concerned - this seemed odd and they needed to look into it.

I know you hate laws, think rules don't apply to those you think you're protecting, and would prefer open borders, but the bottom line is - the mother falsified records and she's the one you need to be upset with.

Look what she put her son through. 23 days in a 'concentration camp' all because she didn't want to be an honest, law-abiding citizen.

Choices have consequences. Liberals hate that.
Thats right she is no citizen.

Slow down there... he would have had basic necessities except for the huge numbers of illegals.

Depending on the time in history when our ancestors arrived, that could be said of citizens born American.

Early American Immigration Policies

"Thus, as the number of immigrants rose in the 1880s and economic conditions in some areas worsened, Congress began to pass immigration legislation."

Before migration was illegal, there had to be a law created. Unless I miss my guess ... he is a citizen born and raised and yet, that mattered not. Take it home.
