Would you be OK with same day gun purchase? without ample time to do a background check?

Think about all the processes we need to go through for a drivers licence, getting electric service to your home, buying a car, running a business, paying taxes, etc. In order to strengthen something you make is as robust as possible... how is same day registration and voting doing that?

A stand alone security Bill would pass with 90+ votes.
So do election boards do some investigation of new registrants that requires a week, a month, however long you think one should wait. These delays come from the days when it took some time to process people and get them on the voter rolls - pen and ink kind of stuff. Today, it can be done instantaneously and I see no valid reason that a waiting period is in order absent any kind of cross-checking that would not be done by a computer in seconds. We both know why Republicans oppose same day registration so stop being duplicitous about it.

We could do the "whataboutism" all day, every way on every day.

Stand alone security bill HR-1 will pass with 90+ votes. Put political BS in it, and it will not even come to the floor for a vote. Folks... this is how we get good regulations and laws. Same day registration and voting doesn't make for a "more" secure voting system, nor does paper ballots as back up.

Read the friggin' bill. geeez....
