First, the WI GOP limited Gov. Tony Evers' power to remove WI from the Affordable Care Act BEFORE he was even sworn in.

Now they want to limit his veto powers after he signed a bill increasing funding for public education. Why does the gerrymandered GOP State Legislature suddenly want to curb the governor's veto powers when a Democrat gets elected? WI has a highly partisan conservative State Supreme Court, which is very corrupt. I believe their attempted power grab will be successful FOR THIS VERY REASON!

What are your thoughts? Why do they think they're smarter than us voters?

1) Last I chekced, the Wisconsin GOP doesn't have a veto proof majority in the state legislature, so Evers will be able to veto anything that comes across his desk; now, the issue of redistricting is a bit trickier as the legislature is trying to do it via joint resolution, which doesn't require the governor's signature, arguing that the Constitution leaves congressional redistricting to the legislatures of the states, not the governor (this is a compelling argument as the Constitution also leaves the amendment ratification process to the state legislatures, and the governor has no role).

2) Wisconsin's Supreme Court is ultimately elected. Dems tried to gain a majority on the court, but lost the last election. The people have spoken.

The states congress, cannot in anyway "obstruct" a governor. They do not have the same job.
States have 3 branches of government too.

One of those 3 branches of government (i.e. WI House Delegation) is grossly gerrymandered!
