It seems a bit harder for the Plaintiff to prove but we don’t have all the facts.
Fact Grand ma and Grand pa didn't do their jobs.
Fact Mom and dad evidently did a questionable job as well.

Perhaps but not sure that absolves the cruise ship of any responsibility here. It will be interesting to see the outcome of this case.

This reminds of what happened to a neighbor. They had an in ground pool. They had emptied the unground pool to repair a leak. As luck would have it, that night a group of drunk teens were pool hopping. By that night I mean around 1 am. You guessed it. 1 teen climbed the fence and dove in, he was injured and mom and dad sued the neighbor. The neighbor didn't have any signs up warning that the pool was empty. Somehow they were responsible for a drunken pool hopping teen, trespassing, getting hurt, when he jumped in their pool without permission.

In this case the cruise line obviously has policy against serving alcohol to minors. It has policies against fraternizing with underage minors.

What it can't do is write policy that forces adults to make sure that they are in control of their minor wards. They also can't ensure that every employee will follow policy. It is an unreasonable expectation to think that any company cam. If it were true no one would be fired for cause.
