Military budget is 715 billion dollars this fiscal year; 2.5 billion is a small dent in military budget. I’d rather use that money to build the wall to protect America than to invade another ME country or drone strikes some brown guy with hellfire missile like Trumps predecessors.

Plus, most likely they will use Army Engineer Corp to help with building the wall like they have in the past.

The good walls have already proven to work. Why do the anti-wall people keep denying it anyway? We're already under attack by an invasion from our southern border raping our country in every way. Yes, thank you Trump for continually fighting for a wall to protect our country!

Like my grandpa used to say. Good fences make for good neighbors.... Especially if one neighbor likes to trespass more than they should!!!!!

You aren’t an independent, you’re just embarrassed to admit how liberal you really are.

We already know the wall works, the sections that have already been built work great.

If Obama had done this to fund any number of the great ideas he had that the GOP Congress blocked at every turn, he would have been able to do far more amazing things than he already did.
I would strongly suggest you read the constitution as it spells out what authority the commander in chief has when it comes to the military budget.
Congress allocates the money in the federal budget, but does not have the authority to demand how it is spent.
The president has that power, granted by the constitution as commander in chief of all of the military, and last time I checked, the pentagon is a military arm of this country.

Trump was in his right, to defer the money at, and for anything he saw fit.
Again, read the constitution, it is all there.

Bob.

All the next president has to do is call it a national emergency and voila, the defense budget can be gutted.

Sounds like a plan.

Wrong. There's still a Supreme Court.
