I've had mixed feelings about "The Great Wall of the United States of America" since Trump started haranguing about it. I thought it sounded kinda stupid, to be honest. Then the Dems went full retard and started supporting illegal immigration. Now Trump's wall sounds like a fantastic idea.

Want to end the whole business of children in cages, 80% of women getting raped by their traffickers, people dying in the desert, caravans numbering in the thousands coming through Mexico, rampant disease, people drinking out of toilets, toddlers being sold into sex slavery, etc.?? Want all that to end? Build the wall. Put troops on the border to patrol and guard that wall. Make sure to monitor for people tunneling under or going over. But you kinda gotta build the damn wall. Utilize every bit of tech at our disposal to make it a truly impassible barrier. Make the whole idea of getting here to begin with look so impossibly difficult, they simply stay home. Then, IMHO, you increase our legal immigration quotas and massively simplify the naturalization and citizenship process. We get it. Migrants want to come here. The USA is awesome and their countries absolutely suck. Any sane person already knows this. So completely shut down the illegal ways of getting here and make it easier to do it legally.

PS: The whole thing gets 1000% easier if you decriminalize all illicit drugs and put the drug smugglers out of business. Then you can fully focus on illegal human trafficking at the border.
"I thought it sounded kinda stupid," then you are either ill-informed or..... it is well documented that where we built walls illegal attempts to cross is WAY DOWN.

Finally.. now the next Democratic President can use the US military to build Solar Power, Wind Power and Wave power plants all over the US, to stop the dangers of Global Warming.

And blow up all coal plants... and have the US military build Electric cars.

AND Coast to coast High Speed railways.

Now THAT is in the interest of national defense!

Hurray!

I used to be all for building a physical barrier to prevent unauthorized people from simply walking into America but what we really need to do is stop the ridiculous asylum law and close the loophole that they are all exploiting.

We could have a wall along the entire border which would prevent some from entering but for most they would stroll to the nearest entry point and present their sob story.

We need to close the asylum law loophole.

Trump said “ Mexico would pay for itâ€

Just last December, Trump said “ $20-15 billion- could do it cheaper- will be better than anyone’s ever seen a wallâ€.

So, $2.5 million means at least 10% of the wall will be completed now that funds can be diverted from the Pentagon.

The Federal Law making the employment of undocumented people a crime is now 33 years old. With the exception of handful of over the top egregious employment behaviors, employer consequences have been insignificant.

The handful of states that have mandated eVerify of all employees designed their laws with intentional loopholes.

Politicians conspire to make it a partisan issue to avoid taking action. Has not mattered which party had the majority or sat the oval. GOING AFTER EMPLOYERS IS POLITICAL SUICIDE.

Seems to me most folk love cheap labor.

No wall is high enough nor patrols deep enough to make a dent so long as employers continue to hire undocumented people as employees or independent contractors and face no serious consequences for doing so.

Democrat Head Explosions

Trump keeps a campaign promise even with no support from Congress.

It's been a great week for Trump. Very bad week for the hapless Democrats. And to think. If Obama had been allowed to seat that leftist judge in the Scotus, this decision might not have happened.

Trump still winning!

MAGA!

Trump's wall is not unrelated to climate change. Global warming is already causing mass migration, and this is expected to grow significantly as agriculture is increasingly impacted. What we've seen thus far in terms of mass human migration across the border is just an early indicator. It should increase significantly in the decades ahead as population sizes become unsustainable and the optimum farm lands move ever further north. If we didn't build a wall now, we likely would build it a couple of decades from now.

The future is not looking great.
