Isn't this the mantra of the capitalist? And here the Green New Deal was being labeled socialist.

Sehr interesting.
Capitalism- voluntary exchange of goods and services
Crony capitalism, fascism, socialism, et al. - politicians using coercion, violence, threats of violence (i.e. laws)in order to direct the exchange of goods and services i.e. The green new deal, carbon credit exchange, etc.

Unfortunately, the cost to shift to renewables is still too high to make a case to switch on a global scale. For every bit of carbon the west reduces, the rest of the world will swallow up and demand more and more. So we are effectively taxing ourselves and shifting the industry and energy to other nations...good for them I guess.

For now.

The difference is that China and India know they are part of the problem, and are investing heavily in wind and solar.

BTW, the USA emits more CO2 than India or any other country other than China.

It's like these politicians want to kill industry in the US and move it overseass. How about carbon tariffs instead?
You know tariffs are paid by Americans, not other countries, right? You DID know that, right?

Or maybe other countries should charge the USA tariffs for all the CO2 the USA produces. That seems to make sense according to your parameters and logic, right?

Don't you just hate it when facts are in conflict with your narrative?

1. I wouldn't own a Volkswagen on a bet. I'll keep my Toyotas, Honda's, or Ranger made in SE Asia.

2. Electric is fine, how you going to produce all that electricity?

Glad I don't live in Europe and I never would live there. Visited many times. Great place to visit, but you couldn't pay me to live there.

How about you put import taxes on chinese goods since they are the world's biggest polluter. Don't just make our companies uncompetitive because you want to cap their carbon.

You mean consumers need to pay for those import taxes, right?

All the carbon taxes in the world aren't going to stop climate changes. Humans need to stop breeding ASAP. We need more childless adults or siblings raising one child together. Our planet can't sustain 8 billion people on it, not even if we were ALL driving electric vehicles. The problem is housing and feeding all of us!

Other car companies are following suit and are now switching production lines to electric.

You produce electric through the low carbon terchnology that is already responsible for the majority of electricity in the UK and in other western nations.

That's your personal opinion but has nothing to do with sensible energy production and environmental policies.

This is all based on a canard. There is no proven link to Man Made CO2 doing anything more to the environment than naturally occurring CO2. This is all an income and wealth redistribution scam sold to the useful idiots as "saving the planet".
