That's your personal opinion but has nothing to do with sensible energy production and environmental policies.
Your electric in the UK has about a quarter coming from nuclear, a technology that is effectively banned in the US. If you would start today to build a nuke plant you might, might, bring it on line in 2050. The one thirty miles from where I live has been operating since 1975 and has had protesters at the gate every single day of that time not to mention having lawyers in Court constantly defending it from attempts to shut it down.

Future..future....we will solve all the global warming problems in the future.

How about we do it NOW??

Reducing the speed limit back to 55 MPH reduces CO2 emissions by 30%. Add to that a reduction of jet travel to 1970's levels......and we can start addressing the problem without new taxes or pipe dreams.

Every Governor can TOMORROW reduce the speed limit on ALL roads in their states by executive order. Don't need legislation, don't need President Trump, don't need the Senate.

Let's just do it. Go back to 55 MPH!!! Reduce jet travel.

Back in 1973, the Republican governors of Washington, Oregon, and California did it overnight when the energy crises. For good measure they turned out the streetlights and required businesses to turn off their lights when closed.

Clearly, the Democrat governors of Washington, Oregon, and California ALL are focused on global warming.

Write them...and urge them to do it TODAY. BTW....we have lots of 55 MPH signs in storage!!

You've always had the option to drive under the posted speed limit along with not flying.

What isn't skimmed right off the top will be spent on scientists, studies and various forms of propaganda (i.e. govt schools, corporate media) to show us how its working .always cautioning that we need to do more while they continue their own consumption unabated.

Another reason electric vehicles make sense... Electric motors can be more than 90% efficient and even up to 98% efficient while combustion engines are 30 to 45% efficient....

I do, but I cannot SAVE the PLANET by myself.

Besides everybody honks and gets mad........guess ALL OF THEM must be climate deniers, even if they are driving a Subaru with a OBAMA sticker.

We need a mandatory 55 MPH to save the planet.

There's not enough charging stations.
Where I am people are allowed to drive their golf carts around. They are restricted though as to which roads to go on. Most are battery powered and people keep them on a slow trickle charger in their garage. Some are street legal so they can drive at night. I see plenty of them at the supermarket, HD, Walmart, etc. The side roads are all 30-35 mph.

That could be an answer for some that live local in cities where shopping is convenient.
