These were in a Dollar Zone. The instructions sewn onto the front have a business name that appears to be Harvey Hutter which, when I looked it up, is a small company that makes promo items. Just hazarding a guess that they or whomever commissioned the item realized the mistake and stupidly tried to mitigate the loss by selling off to the dollar store.

This is one rare occasion where I see a legit complaint. Now if this company had made these dolls white, with blond hair, and blue eyes; they'd be "woke heroes" and everyone would laugh and rejoice now that YT is getting some "payback"

In addition to that, why have any doll that you "slam against the wall"? What even is that? If you're so aggravated, go join a boxing center and get your frustrations out that way.
Yes, and yes.

Whoever made these dolls is completely stupid and deserves whatever losses are incurred.

Whoever dreamt these up (and anyone who actually needs them) should probably be in some intensive therapy.

Same here! How the heck the doll developers even think such dolls would sell is beyond me, unless they were marketing to racists.

I remember in the 70's a black GI Joe with life like hair ,so cool, joining the ranks of my little brother's squadron of white soldiers.
Watching my little brother play as all these plastic dolls went on to win battle after imaginary battle as a team with no preferential treatment of superiority was pure enjoyment. Today sadly...... only the memory remains........ but alas.......................a good one at that.

Yeah it’s like the confederate flag. No one ever complained during the Dukes of Hazard days!

With that said these doll makers are idiots.

I think the original use of that kind of doll was therapy. It was thought at one time if a person took their anger out on an inanimate object, they would be less violent to people. I don't believe that is an accepted theory now. Making it black was stupid.

I dont think the dolls are supposed to resemble black people at all. I do not consider them racist, they look 'generic' imo.

You're on to something, there. Therapy dolls were an accepted venue for kids to vent pent up rage over their abuse. And black parents are still about twice as likely as white parents to abuse their kids.

Even so, the optics are bad.
