Interpreting a racist is not racist. I know exactly what he means. Look at his history of going after fellow Americans. What makes so many here so confident that they are not next.
the fact that you equate black people with rats says a lot about where you’re coming from.
No he has not. In fact, he seems to take pity on some of these rural, impoverished areas (at least by the way he talks about them). He takes a hateful stance towards places like Baltimore, and some of those places share the same scorn for him.
No sitting President has ever referred to a city as a "dump". Sets a bad example. However, there are those among Trump's voting base who like that he says this. No President says "your city is a dump", until now.
Now, Baltimore has alot of problems. Alot of poverty, alot of blight, and alot of violent crime. However, A President could have said "Baltimore has alot of problems, poverty, blight, crime, joblessness, and something needs to be done about it". Trump could have found a better way to say that Baltimore has alot of problems. However, I don't think he wanted to. I think being crass, blunt, and thoughtless is part of who he is. This is what some of his supporters like. To them, it's "he calls a spade a spade".
And there is something more. And this is where a racial element might be there. It's known that Baltimore is a majority Black city. It does have a high amount of crime, poverty, blight, and joblessness, as well as riots in 2015. The fact that it is majority Black makes it easier for some people to recognize this as a dog whistle and think "well, Baltimore is a Black city , of course it's going to be a dump". When the inner cities were being hit with crack and heroin in the 1980s, there wasn't much sympathy. The idea was "lock them up, they're all menaces to society". When places like Appalachia got hit by the fentanyl, meth, and pills, and the majority of the overdose victims were White, suddenly it was viewed with a bit more pity. It was seen as a medical problem. When people in Appalachia are poor and unemployed, it is seen as "this is an America that has been forgotten", and to an extent, that's true. When the inner cities have issues with unemployment and blight, the answer is "they're lazy" or "that's what they get for voting Democrat". In a way, Trump's comment of "Baltimore is a dump" could be interpreted as a dog whistle for "Baltimore is what is wrong with America" or "Baltimore is not the real America".
"No sitting President has ever referred to a city as a "dump". "However, A President could have said "Baltimore has alot of problems,......"
Another with a reading problem!
I swear many people post on here WITHOUT dong ANY reading on the subject and lash out and attack.
"Trump said, "who should concentrate on cleaning up his "disgusting, rat and rodent infested" Baltimore district", NEVER said CITY
Yes, it's gone too far. Everything is called racism. It's being done by the extreme radical edge of the Dem party. Do we accuse all Republicans of the weird things their radical extremists do? Let's be fair. Most of us are floundering somewhere in the middle, looking for leadership, not wasting time on the fringe edges of either political party.
When are "these people" going to learn that if you hit Trump he WILL always hit back. This clown from Baltimo is complainting about living conditions not under his authority thousnads of miles away, YET he isnt working directly to help the ones who voted directly to give him authority to help them...Thus you got poor people living like rats with rats and their elected official is busy complaning about the illegal aliens in detention not getting treated like they are in a Holiday Inn. This my friends is what President Trump was trying to point out in a way he wouldnt be misunderstood.
Do Republicans' elected officials, and the entire panel of Republican candidates for President in an election year, agree and encourage those things?
Nope. But the Democrats freely go along with their Party nutcases' weird agendas.
LOL that you type that with a straight face after your very nutty-with-an-agenda OP. You are a funny guy.
