Trump puts attention on people and things that need it, I see no problem with what he said.
Except the back and forth on this wasn't initiated by Trump. Trump was reacting to what he didn't like that Cummings had said about the border.

People with common sense see this and understand. The President has managed to make Cummings' district the second face of the DemonRAT party along with the Jihad Squad. He didn't have to try very hard.

If this was about the border, then Trump should have kept it about the border. He did not need to hit below the belt. If Baltimore had nothing to do with what Trump was initially discussing, that this shows that we have a petty, petulant man for President.

Why would I vote for a President if he or she makes disparaging comments about the place I live in? Explain.
Where does this nonsensical idea come from: a President is suppose to be representing everyone ?

I haven't been represented by a President since JFK, over 50 years ago !!!

If people want to be represented they can get on the Trump train !!! If not welcome to reality !!!

And furthermore, did Trump really need to say that about Baltimore? What is necessary? Are his comments going to get anyone to improve Baltimore? Is it going to make anyone in Baltimore want to vote for him? What was the purpose of his comments?
Its fairly clear why he said it !!! He saw a big mouth racist committee chairman abusing his authority and bullying a member of his admin. in law enforcement and blaming them for dealing with a situation he can fix as a member of congress but won't !!!
He wasn't conducting oversight !!! He was demonizing, dehumanizing, and passing the buck onto someone he won't support that is doing the best they can with a problem he's done nothing to fix !!! As a member of congress he needs do his job on a national level and in his district !!!
You don't know who in Baltimore is going to vote for him and that isn't the issue anyway !!! From the looks of it the lady in the earlier video living in Baltimore saying Trump is right might well vote for Trump !!! What has she got to lose ? More of the same from the failure Cummings !!!

If they are going to attack him, I support him attacking them. I don't see why he shouldn't since the left created this type of politics below the belt. All is fair now and yes, this is war.

The left and right are so divided that they will find fault no matter how something is expressed anyway. But it would be nice if our president could at least make an attempt to make his point without being disgusting about it.

The posters in this thread present a snapshot of what's going on with our politicians. Both sides have valid points but nobody is considering them because they're too busy trying to outbash the other side.

How is any of this helpful? Our country is suffering while everyone is engaged in a giant food fight war of words.
Yep.

Your 'Us vs. Them' mindset permeates this thread and I, and many others on this thread, aren't part of either ideological box.

These are just some of the strategies I see used daily by supporters and interested parties to defend Trump and other politicians when they have said or done something that is objectively wrong. These kinds of rhetorical devices and logical fallacies distract from the real issues and put the critics on the defensive rather than responding to their critiques in a meaningful way.

As soon as someone uses one of these techniques, you either have to disengage or refuse to be thrown off topic. So I'll repeat: this thread is about what Trump said, not about Obama.
I don't think you need to go all Thread-Nazi some 497 posts in.

Elizabeth Warren finds it very frustrating that you don't like her traditional native recipe of Cold Omelets with Crab Meat, which she submitted to the Pow Wow Chow Cook Book as a member of the Cherokee tribe.
