On this we agree. Trump had no need to be a petty ashole. That didn't make his statement less true or racist. It just made him an azz hole.
You get what you accept. Baltimore is what it is because they accept it. As some have sad. Cummings has brought Federal dollars into Baltimore and it has delivered what? I mean besides getting him re-elected?
30 years of trying? At some point we need to start calling it 30 years of failing......
Trump being petty helps no one. And no one has proving that it has been helpful.
As for Baltimore, I know it's been in bad shape for a long time. That is on the local government, mainly the mayor. And there is a reason I don't blame it on Democrats. Madison,WI is a liberal, Democratic city. It is one of the most desired cities to live in. Contrast with Milwaukee, in the same state. It has alot of problems similar to Baltimore.
If many Baltimore residents want Cummings out, Trump calling Baltimore a dump isn't going to convince them.

While this could be viewed as fair criticism, would Mr. Cummings have gotten the message as loudly and clearly as he has had Trump used less inflammatory invective?
Probably not.
As a result of Trump's Twitter exchange, Mr. Cummings cannot ignore the results of his own nonfeasance any longer. Nor can anyone else.
Cummings still didn't get the message even with the way Trump expressed himself.
The left and right are so divided that they will find fault no matter how something is expressed anyway. But it would be nice if our president could at least make an attempt to make his point without being disgusting about it.
The posters in this thread present a snapshot of what's going on with our politicians. Both sides have valid points but nobody is considering them because they're too busy trying to outbash the other side.
How is any of this helpful? Our country is suffering while everyone is engaged in a giant food fight war of words.
When anyone has had that many code violations, one wonders why or how they are still in business beyond finding legal loopholes or paying off the powers that be to overlook the violations.
If the Representatives of those other places attacked him as Cummings has calling him a racist and a criminal, then Trump would call those other places out too. Attack him and he attacks you back.
The bolded is appropriate on a playground to defend one's self, or appropriate for the same reason in a street fight. It isn't appropriate for the POTUS. He's doing what is known as 'punching down'.

Trump didn't make the comments with the goal of helping people, he made the comments because his 'widwl feewings' were hurt by what Cummings said about the border, and because he's trying to discredit Cummings because he doesn't like that Cummings wants to look deeper into his finances.
