That's a good point, I'm confident that Obama's supporters care a lot more about him now than Trump's supporters will after he's out of office. Obama's supporters would riot if/when he's ever charged with wrongdoing.

In conservative thinking they won regardless of what happens to Trump after he leaves office. They enjoyed 4-8 years of the Liberals being upset. Nothing else matters to them.

The old adage about glass houses comes to mind. Nobody on the left is in any position to point out the right’s hypocrisy when it comes to the ethics of their representatives.

Conservatives are quite liberal in this regard going back decades and generations. Personal integrity and the rule of law means very little to them unless they can use it as a tar brush against anyone in the opposition. I could list a number of GOP Presidents and Vice Presidents disgraced by political and personal scandal going back 150 years. Trump is all about pushing the envelope of his self defined privileges, racism, and scandals into uncharted territory but Conservatives are happy as can be. It is treasonous to continue supporting this creature.

Really? The left worshipped Bill Clinton so much that they tried to give his wife a shot. And you’re going to lecture conservatives on integrity? Cognitive dissonance makes for wonderful humor.

You do realize that Democrats are no stranger to scandal, right? The entire premise that you are supporting, the supposed moral bankruptcy of the GOP, is a flawed argument from the start.

I don’t know if it does or not. Never considered it.

What’s undeniable is that if he’s prosecuted, it will be highly embarrassing to his voters. If you say otherwise, you’re just lying.

The OP makes a valid point. Look at how quickly and completely every right wing authoritarian has disavowed and denied ever voting for Dubya as soon as he was no longer useful to them. And the same goes for:

Bush I
Paul Ryan
John Boener
John McCain
Mitt Romney

The list could go on.

These people have no loyalty except to their own personal animosity toward anybody who isn't quite like them. So why would they care if Tinyhands is locked up once he's no longer useful?

NY is investigating him right now. Him being President doesn't mean anything to them. If I were T I'd be worried. As far as conservatives, they're just using T to get their agenda through (their puppet). I doubt they'll care where he goes after they're done w/ him. They will re-form and call themselves something like Conservatives Unite and start anew.

Nah, Tinyhands has nothing to worry about.

Our 'justice' system is mostly for sale. Look at how long Trump's great friend Jeffrey Epstein got away with raping little girls... and it was common knowledge that he made a habit of it. He's only now being prosecuted because people find it politically useful (hoping to get at T-Rump). And I wouldn't bet on him serving any serious time even now.

Plus there's a long tradition of NOT prosecuting the X-Presidents even when they're clearly guilty of felonies and/or war crimes. That's a dangerous precedent to set... prosecuting your political oponents once you take power. Trump may be guilty as sin, but Dems would be extremely unwise to pursue this once he's out of office.

And as incompetent as Democratic leadership is... one thing they understand very well is self-preservation.

We may see some kind of dog & pony show and Trump may get some kind of censure or symbolic 'punishment'. But he'll never spend a day behind bars.
