"Go back home" is not racist just because it hurts some people's feelings. And therein lies the problem. Every time someone calls someone racist because their feelings got hurt, the word loses it's meaning. Would it be racist if I told a Canadian to go back home?
I do think some immigrants should consider going back home. Mainly the ones that just came here to whine and complain. We have a surplus of whiners and complainers as it is. We also have way too many immigrants that come here and end up on welfare and such. Again, we have enough natural born citizens to care for. Our government has not done a very good job of regulating immigration, and I think that should appear obvious to most.
Why must anyone say anything about something being racist, sexist or generally bigoted say it isn't just because "it hurt someone's feelings?" I wish you and everyone else would put that defense to bed because it means nothing. You tell me what it would feel like to be called honky or racist for being white by African-Americans. I have. It DOES hurt and that IS racist. It is called empathy and I think conservatives need it STAT.
What conservatives don't realize is that some words shouldn't be said. My father told me of a recent episode at a local mall that he saw where a group of Hispanics and a group of whites nearly got into it after one of the whites called them "****s" by one of the escalator banks. Luckily a cop cut it off, before a fight would break out. The cop threatened to cite the guy for starting a riot based on the use of a specific word, a racial slur right there.
There is a difference between calling someone say stupid and using a racial or sexual slur. Saying someone is stupid shouldn't produce a violent reaction, a racial or sexual slur however will roughly 6 times out of 10. Another problem is Trump's comments are not even dog whistles at this point like they were three years ago, they are blatant now. Trump went from "law and order" to being about "rat infested" cities and "Socialists" that need to go back home (when in fact three out of the four are actually native U.S. citizens, two of which would be if birth right citizenship was revoked.)
But see in the case of "go back home", it isn't a simple case of it being racist in it of itself. Protestants like the Know Nothings of the 1850's saying it to Irish Catholics wasn't racist, still a bigoted thing to say though. I think we could all agree on that point, correct? What makes it racist is the context. It is that Trump directs this at not at Canadian-Americans like you mentioned but rather African-Americans, Puerto Ricans and Muslim Americans. Last I checked Puerto Rico is actually a U.S. territory, Canada isn't. Until Trump and others including my father get their wish of Puerto Rico becoming a state or gaining full independence from the U.S., Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens since Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory.
If you fail to see the issue with Trump and others being race-baiters if not outright racist, we have nothing more to say. You chose to put your cart to the party's horse. I don't, I complain about Democrats too and even SJW ideas like that stupid man-spreading thing. There is an anatomical reason for that beyond any micro aggression.
As for the comments made by the Snowflake politicians and others from Arizona, they are with Trump in that group. TRUST ME, I live here and hear all about it on drive-time radio. They are xenophobic idiots plain and simple.
The Arizona Governor is now defending the Senator. Even though he previously asked another state legislature member for making similar comments. What a Ducebag. This proves why I cannot vote for Ducey.
I think a lot of liberals suspect other people are racist because they are.
Also, in my view the accusations of racism by the left is based on their lack of trust that minority voters will turn out to vote. Calling Repubicans racist is a get out the minority vote tactic.
Illegals, Hispanic or not are taking once good paying jobs from Americans such as construction and landscaping jobs. That's a fact that can't be denied.
As for assimilation, legal immigrants are more than likely to assimilate than illegal aliens. No one cares about skin color it's about losing our identifying culture and having our demographics change via illegal immigration. That's neither lawful nor natural. Seems you like to blur the lines between legal and illegal.
So you blame the "slave" (illegal) instead of the "slave owner (American businessmen) for that?
Oh and since when are "landscaping" jobs "good paying?
I can say for a fact South Americans look just like North Americans. They have the same races there we have here, including folks who come from the Pacific Islands and all other national origins from all continents in the world. The racial mixtures in South America are the same as ours.
There's no difference at all other than fad, fashion, hairstyles, and language.
You could pick any South American from any of those countries, dress him up in American fashion, and he could go anywhere in this country and would only be noticed by his language. And if he could speak English, not even that would differ.
Slyvia Allen, with no doubt, doesn't know a thing about anywhere other than Arizona, and she's full of racist BS.
Funny how this Allen triggered a bunch of snowflakes.
Nah. The only person who was triggered was a Snowflake resident.
