Republicans are spend and spend, Dems are tax and spend. Only of those options reduces the federal deficit

Republicans are. They passed zero spending cuts to accompany the tax cut.. no different than under GWB.

Trying to pretend they aren't connected simply shows your partisanship. Can you balance a checkbook?

Happened under republican controlled Congress and president 2016-2018 and during GWB when Republicans controlled Congress. But I don't expect you to be honest about it

It's a fair argument that the exorbitant deficit spending the first few years under the Obama administration was the result of the financial collapse. However you can't then use reductions in the following years to make criticisms of what is occurring under Trump.
Deficit went down towards Obama's final years and they went up sharply under Trump. Likely related to Obama letting the bush tax cuts expire on those making $450l+.

Personally, I'd rather take the extra workers and their payrolls taxes.

Most be nice to be retired now collecting "liberal" created SS. Not sure I will have that luxury if current right wing immigration policy holds, we will look more like Japan

Are you talking about Obama?

His sheep keep saying that he lowered the budget deficit to just $0.4 Trillion in his last Fiscal Year, when he added $1.42 Trillion to the debt due to off budget expenses that he promised wouldn't happen on his watch.

Trump should be ashamed of the debt...so should Obama. Stop the lies both ways.

When will CONGRESS stop holding the President hostage with these huge spending bills? When Trump threatens to not sing them, they cry to the MEDIA about the Republicans shutting down the government and the welfare queens and their children not getting their checks.

Democrats screamed bloody murder over a mathematically mild sequestration. Something Obama lied about where it came from.

Democrats also distort and tell fanciful tales about an already fake-austerity in Europe as a means to scare people from trying real austerity here.

So I agree that the Democrats have a lot of work to do here about honest budgets and so forth, but so do Republicans. The military budget is out of control and tax cuts across the board don't always help with the debt either.

Although then-candidate Donald Trump promised in 2016 to eliminate the national deficit if he was elected president, the deficit has actually ballooned significantly since he took office and is projected to grow substantially moving forward. Fox News anchor Chris Wallace confronted acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney about this fact Sunday, pointing out that the deficit had begun decreasing under former President Barack Obama before Trump took over.

"After dealing with the Great Recession in his first term, the deficit under Obama dropped by an average of 11 percent a year in his second term," Wallace pointed out to Mulvaney who also serves as Trump's director of the Office of Management and Budget on Fox News Sunday.

"The deficit has increased by 15 percent a year in President Trump's first two years. Under President Trump, our national debt has increased by more than $2 trillion," Wallace continued. He pointed out that estimates project that the amount will "top $4 trillion," if a bipartisan budget supported by the president goes through.
Chris Wallace is more about Chris Wallace!

Not worth listening too anymore.
