That was one of the early big lies, like is promise to self-fund and not be beholding to the influence of big donors ... or his $1 trillion infrastructure plan (without even a hint of how to pay for it). The string of later lies basically obscured these early ones.

Big fail on this.
(Oh, BTW, Colonel Sanders also said that Baltimore was a dump)
WHY is anyone cheering a lying grifter who promised time after time after time he would put a "far better than the ACA" plan in place soon after taking office and has utterly failed to come remotely close to fulfilling that promise?
Obamacare insurance card and $10 might get you a cup of coffee after the deductible.
How would you get to the store to buy that coffe after selling your car to pay the ACA premiums and deductibles?
"All you people who couldn't afford inurance now can buy insurance subsidized by the middle class. So just go to the doctor, show your card, and then be prepared to pay the first $5000 out of pocket. Poor people now have insurance, as long as they have $5000 in their pocket for the deductible."

Hard to work on that as your constantly dealing with impeachment due to winning the election.
Agree. It was to provide benefits to the lower class, even if that meant making insurance unaffordable to the middle class.
Nonsense again. Medicaid already does that. The ACA was supposed to close the donut hole.
The ACA didn’t make insurance unaffordable to the middle class. My premiums went up yearly by about 3% - 7% yearly anyway even before the ACA. And that rate increase has stayed virtually the same.
Obamacare plans were very expensive in most cases because Republican governors and legislatures refused to participate in the Medicaid expansion, and they only did so to spite Obama... not because it was expensive. In states where Medicaid expansion was adopted, Obamacare plans are affordable.
Kentucky is one state that accepted the expansion, and it’s been a huge success. Their dumb neighbor, Tennessee refused to cooperate, and health care is a disaster.
My prices WERE lowered. Trump enacted a new policy whereby pharmacists were no longer FORBIDDEN to tell customers of cheaper alternatives (as they were under Obama). This new "freedom" that allows a pharmacist to tell the truth about where you can get cheaper prescriptions has dropped my insanely priced prescription that was formerly around $500 (and yes, that's WITH Obamacare) by more than half - to slightly over $200.
And if it happened with me, it's the same with millions of others
Gag clauses had nothing to do with President Obama.

Getting rid of the mandate was a huge victory.
No it wasn’t. It was a disaster. And killing the mandate will continue to be a disaster for states that won’t opt into Medicaid expansion. Your state included.
Which is why Texans that are tired of the politics of refusal are fighting to put Medicaid expansion on the ballot...something that Texas Republicans are rejecting because they know it’ll pass.
Trump care is the total repeal of Obamacare and go back to the cheaper insurance we had.
Trump campaigned on the promise to repeal and REPLACE Obamacare care with something wonderful that was going to take care of everyone. Just days before 2016 Election Day he was out there committing to better healthcare for everyone at a fraction of the cost.
Fast forward to Inauguration Day. Healthcare was not mentioned in his inaugural address. Shortly thereafter, Trump let loose with “ no one knew healthcare was so complicated”. Obviously his inner circle did not know and it became obvious he had no plan.
Trump’s blah blah about allowing insurance to be sold across state lines did not pan out. There is no Federal law preventing the sale across state lines. Some states have historically welcomed it. Thus far there are no takers. An out of state insurer would not have a network- meaning no providers agreeing to a reimbursement. Everything would be reimbursed as out of network and the dif, balance billed to the consumer.
Trumpcare 1 and 2 failed in Congress. The failure allowed the Trump Admin to dodge a bullet- reduced benefits and substantially higher premiums for those 50-64, the cohort that voted for him over Hillary.
Fast forward to the lead up to the 2017 midterms. The GOP made certain those running in competitive races shouted their advocacy for mandating insurers cover preexisting conditions and doing so without charging higher premiums.

My premiums were going up every year before Obamacare, and the deductibles as well.
That's an interesting point about Kentucky, Mitch McConnell's territory.
