Your allies all trade with you and for the most part work cooperatively with you. That is doing something. They've been doing that for you for decades and even hundreds of years. It helps enhance the well being and prosperity of everyone involved. If the allies all get pushed away and insulted then they take their trade and cooperation away with them too. Trade and cooperation is vital for survival, it doesn't bode well for those who throw it away.

The US is the largest consumer economy in the world. Even the US' enemies want to trade with it. Isolationism doesn't mean "no trade." It means not getting involved in armed conflicts.

Besides, the only US military ally worth a damn is basically the UK. Sometimes Canada. Not sure about Australia. Basically the Anglosphere. Sure as hell France and Germany are basically worthless as military allies. Some of the smaller Euro countries have helped out during US military adventurism.... but that won't be necessary if the US stops its adventurism.

One of the most ironic developments of the 21st century was that France was ardently opposed to military action in Iraq by the US... and FRANCE ended up with the oil contracts that came after Saddam Hussein was deposed. Meanwhile, for all the jokes that the US invaded "for oil," it didn't get the loot and itself became a net oil exporter and the biggest European backstabbers (who ended up being right but for the wrong reasons) are stuffing their pockets with oil gold!

A bit of isolationism might do the world some good. It sure as heck would help the American tax payers.

As is so typical, you got it bassackwards:

https://simpleflying.com/operation-yellow-ribbon/

Your country was the first country to invoke NATO article #5

CNN.com - NATO aircraft guard U.S. skies - October 12, 2001

And there have been numerous natural disaster examples such as this one where Canada has come to the aid of the U.S.

Now please show us all where the U.S. has ever done anything of the actual "rubber hitting the road" kind for Canada.

I'll wait …..

Waiting …..

Still waiting …..

If only we could have set up some sort of inspection regimen to ensure the nuclear program was used for peaceful purposes. Would have been very useful indeed.

There was also a video about Trump signing a Guatemala deal, but no information about Senate ratification of the treaty, and no congressional members in attendance. It's not clear that Trump doesn't realize that he can blow them up, but he has no power to make treaties.
Why should anyone assist us? Iran is on the other side of the world from the US, it is the US coming to them, not Iran coming to the US.

I thought the US was Mr. Tough Guy, has the world's largest and well funded military, so why would we need assistance against little ole Iran?
