Trump administration gets green light to sell arms to Saudi Arabia, after Senate rejects veto overrides

Three votes Monday to override Trump's vetoes failed. Each required a two-thirds vote.

The White House also argued that stopping the sales would send a signal that the United States didn't stand by its partners and allies, particularly at a time when threats from hostile countries such as Iran have been increasing.
19 terrorists were responsible for the Sept 11 attacks, and 15 of the Sept 11th terrorists were citizens of Saudi Arabia.

Trumps travel ban which is supposed to keep us safe from terrorists does not include Saudi Arabia on the travel ban list.

And American intelligence agencies believe the Saudi prince was responsible for American journalist Jamal Khashoggi's murder. But Trump publicly sided with the Saudi prince over US intelligence agencies and said the prince was innocent.

Trump has made millions of dollars from Saudi investors and its government from a variety of business deals.

The Saudis purchased the financially troubled Plaza Hotel for $325 million in 1995. "The Saudi government also purchased the entire 45th floor of the Trump World Tower, for $4.5 million, in June 2001." A visit from Saudi officials to Trump's Trump International Hotel in New York City helped boost the hotel's quarterly revenue by 13% in 2018's first quarter." And the Saudis purchased a $20 million dollar yacht from Trump. ex.ex.

In 2015 Trump said, "I get along great with all Saudis. They buy apartments from me. They spend $40 million, $50 million. Am I supposed to dislike them? I like them very much!"

Why do you believe Trump likes Saudi Arabia so much?

Regardless the other issue is you using a source like Aljazeera.

When I said I was not familiar with this particular arms deal, I was talking specifics, not the subject in general.
Selling arms to the Saudi's has been going on for decades via both political parties. To think we should not be doing so is fine, as well as those who think we should.
I am just perplexed at those who are using this as a Trump issue, instead of being honest and knowing Trump is just the latest in a long line to try and balance or geopolitical interests in the region.

`
okay so this is fake:
Hijackers in the September 11 attacks

"15 of the 19 were citizens of Saudi Arabia, two were from the United Arab Emirates, one was from Lebanon, and one was from Egypt."

Late breaking is just the latest news on the issue, read it, not, I don't give a chit. How's that. Aljazeera is one of many reporting on the event.

The real interests of our American government. You're right, nothing more to see here.

The Sunnis and the Shias have been killing each other for 1400 years, taking occasional breaks to Invade Europe, kill some Jews and Christians, and others, then back to killing each other. Not like they are going to stop soon.

Russia would love for the U.S. to stop selling weapons to Saudi Arabia. Everyone who ever called Trump a traitor or Putin's puppet should consider how this decision fits with Trump the Russian secret agent.
