The electronic computer stuff is pure garbage. I was there. Certainly the Israelis made a contribution. But there were others as capable and alternates for all that were equivalent or even better. I in fact suggest many of those took us in the wrong path.
The crucial error in that area was the consensus that the internet was a friendly place. Therefore tight security and encryption were specialty items.

I agree that is a problem But I am not sure that is a problem created by Israel.
The concept was a Jewish state. But the place picked and the surround made a liberal and fair modern state which was Jewish impossible. So the Jews did what they had to in order to make the state exist.
The rest of the world could have made it workable. Either locate the Jewish state in part of the losing nations at the end of WW2 or arrange acceptable new homes for those displaced by the Jewish state.
The Jews understand they cannot share a state with an Arab populations that will eventually be able to out reproduce the Jews and will have support from the surrounding states.
The options now are to stabilize the size of Israel and accommodate very well the Arabs displaced. Perhaps doable with an immense UN action and the support of the major wealthy Arab nations as well.
In the interim the Jews in Israel really have no choice but to suppress the involved Arabs. Anything else is suicidal.
I remain somewhat skeptical however that either the West or the Arabs are willing to pay the bill in either dollar or political capital costs.
Nations like Russia don't face the wrath that Israel faces even though they are a far more hostile country.
The left remains mad at Trump for putting sanctions on Iran which is a nation that kills gays, suppresses those who don't believe in Islam. They actually would kill anyone that denies the existence of God.... Never hear a word about sanctions for Iran from the left.
The actual list of nations that do terrible things to their citizens is long and nary a word from the left...
Israel on the other hand gets myopic attention from the left. Israel as a nation has been under constant threat and attack. yet the left blames them, and wants to destroy them.
Its an interesting thing. i cannot fathom why.
At the end of the day, if the palistinians were to lay down their arms, demand their people live in peace with Israel, they would get a nation. If Israel did that, they would be overrun, and everyone would be killed.

That only happens because UNWRA and other agencies are subsidizing the population growth and the unwillingness to resettle in other parts of the Arab world. Otherwise the population, previously skilled in subsistence agriculture and as hunter-gatherers, but with few skills s relevant to the modern world, would starve to death or cut their reproduction rate.

The problem is that the Arab world has historically wanted to keep the populate as refugees in order to keep the pot boiling. There is no way they would, historically, have accommodated displaced peoples since that would have meant conceding the right to a Jewish state in the region. Now certain Sunni Arab states are moving in the right direction, cowed by the Shi-ite rivalry. Europe has historically been neutral in favor of the Arabs. It's not so much of a matter of paying the bill; it's resistance to ending the state of belligerency.
I have nothing against individuals living in the area known as Israel. My beef is with the State of Israel just like the roughly 200 States that claim existence on earth.
