In one month, two sheriff's deputies in Florida have been arrested for fabricating drug evidence during traffic stops.
A former sheriff's deputy in Martin County, Florida, was arrested Monday for falsely imprisoning people on bogus drug charges. He is the second Florida deputy in one month to be charged with fabricating evidence during drug-related arrests.
Former Martin County Sheriff's Deputy Steven O'Leary, who was fired from the department in January, allegedly made three drug arrests in which the substances involved were not actually narcotics. In each case, he claimed that roadside field tests returned positive results for illegal drugs.
After Monday's arrest, O'Leary is charged with multiple offenses including: official misconduct, false statements, tampering with evidence, false imprisonment, petit theft and battery.
Keep those hands at 10 & 2 an pray as you drive down the street my statist friends. Your "protectors" don't have adequate training, use junk science to make arrests, and are caging you for a non-crime (drug possession).
Keep voting and paying those taxes. Maybe you'll be next!
This is what should be expected as an unintended consequence of giving government so much power.
Government needs to be limited and its power drastically reduced.
Let's not forget that it was government power that kept blacks in the back of the bus and gay people from being able to marry.
Exactly, and those people that RESISTED, that refused to comply with those laws....are the same people that are honored and recognized as heroes today (for what they did).
Obviously, there are going to be people today, that are resisting, refusing to comply, that will eventually see the same thing happen to them.
I truly believe, in cases like that, resisting arrest is actually the appropriate thing to do!!
Any crimes that were a result of the resisting arrest act, would have to be dropped, since the initial charge was fake too.
I respect the point and stand; however, most people can't afford to do so in the real world.
By resisting, even if you are eventually absolved, you end up with higher bail, more charges on your record (expunging isn't automatic, but require money, time and stress). This can make a difficult situation much much worse for most middle class employed people.
I'm not saying your wrong, I'm just saying it carries too high of a price for most people.

Agreed, but you can't expect most people to choose to be a martyr.
Florida has so many systemic issues because half of our population only cares about keeping taxes low until they die.
That means they will vote for a crook that cares nothing about the state but promises no new taxes. This state pretends to be a big city corporation friendly state like some other southern states but is run like a crooked small town. A very unique state for sure.
