A lot of the posts here have had a familiar sound for some time, now. This column from Art Buchwald from July 1973 explains why. I was old enough to vote when Nixon was running, like a lot of folks here. We lived through all this before.

Hopefully everything will come to the same conclusion soon.

Thanks. That is an eerie list of responses, which we hear nowadays from Trump supporters, with slightly different wording.

My 1st time to vote; I listened to a very successful farmer (I thought) mentor and voted for Nixon.
A old man Democrat asked me how I was voting and hit me with his cane.

Turns out the mentor didn't give a **** about me and told his son to quit our friendship. I worked on his crop ground while going to college and that SOB even made me feel bad about taking my pay check.

Wow, it's like Trump/the GOP took the script from the Nixon years and just recycled it. Let's hope for a similar outcome and legacy.

You watch, 20 years from now you won't find a single person who will admit they voted for Trump. The kiss of death for any future politician will be a picture of him/her in a MAGA hat.

the facts did come out. You can rest easy now. This is not 1973-4. Soon there will be new facts than you care to acknowlege. We can create a new list.
