I have used the Venus razors for years (part of Gillette).

I have not seen this commercial until tonight and as a c-section mama...this hits a little home (a little TMI, but I just wish my scar was this small because mine is hipbone to hipbone on me).

I know exactly how you feel.

A restaurant in my area had a Trump sign out in front in 2015 - 2016 and I have never gone back for that reason.

It would have been smarter for them to avoid seeming political, as most of their competition did.

All I can say is that Gillette has probably gotten a few thousand dollars out of me, over the years.
Not one penny more.

Gillette is a great razor. I ABSOLUTELY stopped buying their razors over a commercial. I'm pretty sure that a few million other guys did too.

ANY business that take a political stance is just being stupid, as you immediately alienate 50% of your customers.

Why in the world did someone not stop the Gillette ad campaign? Is "groupthink" so bad that no one with an ounce of sense cautioned about the potential problem of such an ad?

Yes, Gillette is expensive, and excellent quality. Men want great quality razors and are willing to pay for them.
Don't try to soft-soap this news.

It's confirmation bias to the highest extent. How many Starbucks have gone under because of the "War on Christmas"? Amazon for Bezos buying the Washington Post? Notice how many companies are using mixed race-relationships in their advertising now and feeling no effects?

But, sure, go woke go broke, if that makes you tingle in your bits.

And now you have a crappier razor. You're a winner.

Besides, maybe the competition wouldn't be doing so well if Gillette wasn't trying so hard to alienate it's prime user demographic.

Maybe its because of the beard craze going on. People are not shaving as much maybe?

The only people I ever hear using the term 'woke' are conservatives who use it to make fun of people who don't agree with their theocratic vision of what the US should be.
