That is a lie. He was NOT found "not guilty" and the article doesn't say he was. Why are you posting a lie in your title and opening sentence?

Do you really have such awful comprehension difficulties with reading and spelling English words? If you are not capable of understanding or correctly spelling the words "not criminally responsible" then why not copy and paste that phrase into your title and opening sentence exactly the same way you did with the quote you copied and pasted, instead of making up a dumbed-down lie?

Did you at least understand the simple fact that the insane man is still being put away under lock and key?

And he will stay that way, until he is deemed, by medical professionals, to be cured. Which could be never. For all we know at this point, it could turn into a life sentence.

In Canadian law, the Not Criminally Responsible (NCR) defense has a very high threshold, as has been demonstrated by the caselaw. The accused's lawyer would have had to work very hard, and present a bunch of good arguments supported by precedent, to get the Court to arrive at an NCR verdict.

I agree with the others who have said that the thread title is misleading. "Not guilty" implies that the accused walks free. This is not the case in this situation. The accused is going away, where he cannot hurt anybody for the forseeable future; and like I said, perhaps for life.

Say what?

Man charged with stabbing of Montreal priest found not responsible

A man charged with stabbing a Catholic priest during a mass that was being streamed online from Montreal’s St. Joseph’s Oratory in March has been found not criminally responsible.

The ruling in the case of Vlad Cristian Eremia came down Wednesday at the Montreal courthouse, according to a spokeswoman for the Crown.

The 27-year-old Eremia will remain housed at a Montreal psychiatric hospital until authorities deem he can be released.

He’d been charged with attempted murder and assault with a weapon stemming from the March 22 attack on Rev. Claude Grou.

I won't post the YouTube link for that kind of activity.

The priest forgave the suspect.

Forgiveness is one thing.

Punishment for criminal intent is another.

Both should have taken place.

They couldn't convict this guy even though there is video evidence... smh...
I don't know whether to laugh or cry at your post.

If your intent was to mislead, you failed miserably.

If you actually didn't/can't comprehend the article you linked, then perhaps this will help.
