All of the new gun laws and proposed gun laws only affect the law-abiding. Many of the politicians proposing them openly admit they would like to outlaw guns. That makes them anti-gun.
It makes those politicians anti-gun.. but anti-gun for those who want common sense laws. it does not.
Does the presence of traffic laws indicate a anti-car stance? Keep in mind, traffic laws also only affect those that are law-abiding... plenty of non-licensed, law breaking drivers out there as well. Shall we just get rid of traffic laws under the premise that only law biding citizens will follow them???? Under that argument we could simply just get ride of all laws since by definition only law-biding citizens choose to follow them...
We have a lot of laws that limit law biding citizens... if the basis of your argument were true, there are a lot of things we are "anti-" against.
What is apparent is to which extent we want the laws to govern ownership of guns.... sure.. I agree. Gun advocates want less and others want more. But... it still doesn't make them "anti-gun".
Started shooting age 6.....NRA member around guns all my life and I dearly wish that number was true but it sounds like hogwash to me. I have never met a woman packing in my life. Can't recall a single woman attacked and murdered who shot back.........of course it wouldn't make the news even if it did happen.
I suppose it is like jeeps. If you own something made by Jeep or are thinking of owning one, you suddenly become quite aware of how many of them are on the road.
How many women do I know who are packing heat? Me, my former dive boss, those with husbands who put the gun in the car for them, etc, etc, etc.
And you obviously didn't go for Playboy in August 1982.

Well, once again, this is the apples and oranges thing, comparing two things on the same level when they themselves are not the same thing. One is a right in the Constitution, one is not.
It's like why is prostitution mostly illegal and being in an adult movie isn't? One is not a right in the Constitution....and one is.

I have not seen anything resembling "common sense" in the way of a gun law come down yet. But my take on common sense is a bit different than gun control advocates. In my version 2+2 still equals 4. Everything that criminals do with firearms that is harmful is so redundantly illegal already that adding more seems ...odd.
The progg/socialists don't care about criminals. That is obvious. They want MY firearms and ALL peoples legal firearms. Common sense to them equates to heavily armed cops who can't use what they have worth a damn having all the weapons they want and citizens being dependent on them to defend them.

My dog. A gun on my nightstand makes me feel like some kid is going to come along and shoot himself. Funny how often that happens.
Many that have kids use a small, flat, bed side safe that can be quickly opened by entering a four digit code. Not an issue. There are no kids in my house so a holstered pistol lives in my top drawer. In 47 years of owning firearms, not one has ever jumped up by itself and shot someone.
