Because he wants medals taken away from lawyers who tried to give a soldier life in prison?

Technically there is no problem, it is just this would be like the president getting involved in a parking ticket issue.

It is usually the chain of command, superiors, that recommend and initiate the process, I have done it myself.

But the president getting involved is strange, this is not a Navy Cross or some high level award, it is just a NAM, the lowest level achievement medal or whatever want to call it there is.

That sounds more reasonable, though it does seem that he's expressed more of an interest in this case in general, so in that regard that fact that he had to basically get the last word in isn't all that out of character or surprising.

here's the question: were the medals specifically for this case or were they connected to different action(s) or a cumulative acknowledgement of their service? if it's the later then trump is just being petty and completely inappropriate.

Article I read said it was the former, the medals were specifically for their work on the trial. I would have agreed with the majority if it were the latter.

And, of course, there is a debate tonight, so he must attempt to grab the spotlight, as desperate as it appears. Sad!

I wonder how many millions of people in the world will **** on his memory? Or grave if they could.

He probably wants to wear them with his purple heart. Please note no capital on the P and H because you don't get one for fake bone spurs.

He was considering a pardon before they even completed the trial, that was totally inappropriate as was his recent statement.

Watching collectivists / leftists / slavers denigrate public officials make me chuckle. Why? Because if they ever gained power, disarmed the American people, and thus empowered the glorious State, their lives would be a risk if they ever denigrated a public official again. In fact, the real leaders often liquidate the rebel leaders to prevent them from rising in power.

The collectivist body count exceeds 90 million in the 20th century. What's a few million "enemies" of glorious collectivism? You have to insane to not want to be a serf in the new Socialist World, with no endowed rights to life, liberty, private property ownership, inherent powers, privileges and immunities.

For what it's worth, the commander -in- chief apparently does have the power, delegated by law, to give and deny awards. If he doesn't, who does? Oh, right, this is not about law, but about heaping more leftist OUTRAGE to distract the sheeple.

To be fair, while they don't serve in combat roles, these lawyers are JAGs who wear the uniform, too. They are sailors in the United States Navy.

As for POTUS taking their medals away, its his prerogative. There are bigger things for me to be concerned about tbh.
