Giving Indians land isn't going to help them, but moving into the 21st Century will.

You forgot to mention beside slaughtering each other the Native Americans also raided and enslaved other tribes along with forcing their captives into prostitution and some tribes practiced cannibalism.

Finally the only thing that will help the Native Americans would be abolishing the treaties and assimilating into society.

Gotcha. Big government lover.
Big government? Hardly. Damned indians turn their lands into garbage dumps. You propose to let it happen on a larger scale. Indians depend on the Bureau of Indian Affairs for handouts. Look who wants big government.

Land, different story.
Well the first question needs to be who owned the land to begin with?

The second question is who actually took(as you put it stole it) the land?

The third question would be if it were to continue to be part of the USA or a sovereign nation?

The 4th question would be how to compensate those who have since purchased the land?

-----

Have you thought through any of those questions and answers?

Most reservations are unkempt, run down waste lands with tar paper shacks and abandoned cars and appliances. Kind of reminds me of either Detroit or Baltimore where billions have be squandered with little to show except their leaders in both in $1000 suits.

Where I live we have at least 9 or more reservations and one Trust land area within 100 miles and some are not a place a normal person would not want to live.

Buy the land back, with the Billions of tax free money made at their casinos.

Good point.

When the French were operating near what is now Detroit, the conflicts between the Indian tribes was so severe, it impeded the fur-trade.

The Indian tribes would raid each other for slaves, and they had been doing that for centuries before Europeans arrived.

Finally, the French, under threat of force, compelled all the tribes to sit down at the negotiating table and hammered out a treaty between all the tribes.

That was in the 1600s.

Long before Europeans came, the Hopewell fled the Ohio-Indiana region heading south along the Mississippi River to the area of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

The Hopewell made their last stand there, with every man, woman and child slaughtered by a confederation of nomadic Plains Indian tribes.

It's the largest known battlefield on Earth at more than 30 acres.

Each acre has 1,000 to 3,000 skeletal remains. The total number is in excess of 100,000 bodies.

It's not a burial site. The bodies were strewn about as though they fell where they were slain and all skeletal remains show signs of blunt force trauma like fractured skulls, fractured collar bones, fractured ribs and fractured arms.

That's your peace-loving Indians.

Default Mankind

By the same standard I see being applied here, if a technologically superior race came to Earth, they would be justified in taking over our land and putting all of mankind into compounds where hopefully we wouldn't continue to start wars and kill each other.

No. I'm not an immigrant!

I wish people would stop saying this bull****. Nothing about that is intelligent. Nobody who was born and raised in the United States is an immigrant.
