Mesmerizing to watch this video. What surprised me the most is the waves of immigrants from Germany, and of all places, Canada, over the time. Also revealing is that the Asian wave of immigration since the 1970's is at least as large as that from Latin America, and that China is one of the largest sources.

This gives a completely different perspective watching this as opposed to what we may have perceived before.

A lot of people from Ireland went to Canada before coming to America. That may have been true for other countries.

What perspective change did you have after watching the video?

Cool video.

It's disturbing that it took until the 1950's to recognize an individual country in Africa (and Egypt was still lumped with UAE). Up until then anyone coming from the continent was just labeled "Africa".

Mostly something I suspected before, and that is a plurality of immigrants over a shorter period of time will come from certain geographic areas. That should not be a surprise, as political, social and economic impacts occur in different areas at different times. It is the sources that surprised me in some cases.
