The fact is the black community has the highest single motherhood rate, and the highest school dropout rate of all races in the United States.

Those are personal choices, not "institutionalized" racism.

Change my mind.
If not racism, what else could it be?

Maybe the way you frame the argument is more of a problem than the problem itself... at least in this context.
Hey let's all pretend we never heard of the term "per capita!"

Some posts serve as a great reminder of how futile these discussions are. Explaining per capita is like 2003 internet stuff. We're running on a treadmill here.

It's not just America where Black people are dysfunctional. Africa is the poorest continent on the planet. Black people in the Caribbean and Latin America are the poorest on their racial ladders. Black people in Europe cause all the same problems as Black people in America.

It's fairly obvious - human beings are not all equal, and we're seeing the outcome.

Nice. Well at least the troll account is good at flushing out the racist. Ralph, care to share any of your other thoughts on the hierarchy of racial hegemony?

Take Republicans out of it. Take Democrats out of it. I don't care who is in office. No one is fixing it. The only ones that can fix it are blacks themselves. Until there is a cultural change away from government dependency absolutely nothing will be fixed! It's the truth and every politician is afraid to tell the truth because they will be labeled a racist!

Change my mind.
In the past 10 years the drop out rate has heavily decreased. Latinos now are the "minority" to drop out the most, not black students. Black females in particular, their graduation rate is equal to that of white America at large. There is progress needed for black males but they also are at the highest rate they have ever been. Blacks also graduate college today at the highest levels that there has ever been and we are the most educated in general than we have ever been.

The idea that all black people are poor is kind of stereotypical. A majority of black people are not poor.

And as the single motherhood rate went up so did the increase in completing high school and college, crime also went down in black America and incomes rose, so not sure how you can "blame" those who are still poor on single motherhood. IMO that excuse is a cop out and ignores the legacy of systematic racism in this country.

The "history" (i.e legacy of systematic racism in this country) really is a reason why the poverty rate is over 20% in black America today. Over 50% of black Americans lived in poverty in the 1950s BTW back when more black couples were married, so the poverty rate has also decreased but IMO could still be improved.

On white feminists, I'm a black feminist and black feminism is similar to the mainstream/white feminist movement but is kind of different. Mostly because black feminist recognize that there is a level of racism within the white feminist ranks that would make it a detriment for us as a demographic as a whole to completely trust them. I don't view white feminists as any heroes and neither do most black feminists I know (either black men or women).

I do like a lot of Elizabeth Warren's policy issues but IMO she wouldn't be able to do the more progressive ones and is just blowing wind like Trump did to get elected.

True racists racism in EVERYTHING!

Whenever a non colored person says anything that disagrees with what a colored person says thay are called RACIST!
Nothing racist, but it's funny that it's just a coincidence that the KKK said "love it or leave it", and Trump said "if you don't like it you can leave". It totally COULD be coincidence, and one occurence does not equate to racism, but it's time after time after time with him:

Calling people rats
Like it or leave
Calling them animals
Calling them "fine people"
Failing to call them out for their behavior (until days later when the pressure was too much)
and on
and on
and on....

Even if Trump and his base don't know they are racists, they are. This is not about blaming everything on racism (also a problem), it is about seeing a trend of Trump gleaning support by pandering to people's race-based fears and insecurities. I feel sorry for you if you can't see this. And I feel sorry for society that so many people think anything short of a lynching on the front lawn of their church is fake racism...

Asians were not the victims of redlining like African Americans were...... They also were not prevented from getting mortgages like black people were in some places until the 1970s. They also experienced a lot of discrimination as well and like African Americans have done, I'm glad they have been able to progress economically since the mid 20th century.

Republicans and democrats are not the only issues.

When a black kid and a white kid do the same things, they get treated differently, be it:
Getting pulled by the police
Walking around at night
Entering a store
Applying for a job
Getting paid for the same job
etc.
etc.
etc.
