I also dislike the liberal White Savior Complex but disagree that Black poverty is due solely to poor choices.
Until Jim Crow ended Blacks were not allowed to have higher end jobs. Most New Deal programs deliberately excluded Blacks, FDRs compromise with Southern Democrats. Between White rioters and urban renewal most middle class Black businesses and neighbors were destroyed. Drug possession incarceration overwhelmingly jailed Blacks at higher rates.

After centuries of such things yes, many Blacks make poor choices. There is still a lot of anger, a lot of social disfunction, a lot of substance abuse learned from older generations to endure the unendurable.

LBJ's various "Wars on XYZ" and Nixon's Affirmative Action policies....the pox upon the black American house. All designed for one thing and one thing only - to create a loyal collective that is totally dependent on government and can be counted on to deliver votes. And to at least the democrats' credit, it has worked swimmingly well, at least for the political class, not so much for actual black people.

Old white men posing as the black man's friend...comin' 'round to help. Let's ask el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz for more on this:

White liberals...the plague set loose upon the nation called Black America.
Indubitably.

However, we have to remember that white liberals only took up this cause because

A. A myriad of political/social/economic factors, at that place and time in the 1960s, gave them the advantage over their statist conservative counterparts to claim this collective as their own (as a member of this demographic collective I like to refer to myself as a rebellious pet of Team Blue ).

B. (an extension of Tenet A) It opened the door to the vault of stolen loot located at First St SE, Washington, DC 20004 to pillage and plunder for decades to come.

Make no mistake, had Team Red been able to corner this bastardized market it would have done so in a heartbeat. This is why the educational industrial complex is so important to both teams. Of course Team Blue owns it in terms of certain aspects of indoctrination but Team Red gets enough of a cut in the overall important paradigm (the promotion of statism) to allow the arrangement to continue. That's why we have Team Red members moaning about what they are teaching kids in public schools all day long instead of calling for their abolishment post haste.

So on the surface, yes, Team Blue owns the debacle known as the failure of the black community but I like to call it a crime of opportunity more than anything else and it's not a personal vendetta against minorities. It's just how gangsters run their businesses. The ones in suits downtown...not the street ones I grew up with.

I mean, sure, on the ground it's personal. I lived it growing up in the ghetto with dark skin. You're not down with Team Blue? (insert bewildered look). That's just the life of an individualist though if you ask me. In my more conspicuous moments of grandeur I like to think it's the look they gave Thoreau, Spooner, or Bastiat for non-compliance.

You making blatantly racist comments does not injure my feelings. Why didn't you want to expound more on your racial hierarchy though? You've clearly got an audience. Let us all know what you really think.

I can fix their problem in one generation.

1-School is not a right it's a privilege. If kids are not getting passing grades and that includes behavior and respect towards other students and teachers they are OUT of the public school system. All public school students will wear uniforms and will have a code for hair styles. Don't like it? There are private schools out there.

2- If a juvenile breaks the law the parents are charged right along with them. If they can't handle the child they become a ward of the state and go to a military style school with high expectations and above all discipline. The parents can visit on the weekends but during the week it's all business for these kids 24/7. Take them out of those terrible neighborhoods and show them something different, a path to success.

End welfare as we know it. Have a safety net. Apartments, grocery stores, medical clinics and essentials stores. Never one dollar given by the government, just services. Strict security and drug tests required to stay in these communities. 24 hour monitoring of the condition of the children. If you can't pay your own way it's a clear indication you CANNOT be trusted with the future of our children.

Sorry if these sound extreme but the situation has become extreme.

If Douglass could have witnessed the magnanimous amount of time, money, and labor stolen from the people in the name of "freedom and equality" starting at LBJ's Great Society to today he may have called his own time in shackles a walk in the park.

The irony is only surpassed by the sadness of so much human suffering...all at the behest of the State.

I would agree if there wasn't data showing that blacks have been very successful in penetrating the middle to upper middle class over the past 30 years. According to the Brookings institute (based on Census and BEA data), a left leaning public policy institute by the way, has shown that if blacks only do 3 things, they will almost assuredly end up middle to upper middle class.

1. Graduate high school.
2. Get a job.
3. Get married before having children.

That's it. That's all you have to do, and black economic mobility skyrockets.

I'm waiting for the Loonies to offer reparations to all women because women weren't allowed to vote until long after black men got the vote

The fact is the black community has the highest single motherhood rate, and the highest school dropout rate of all races in the United States.

Those are personal choices, not "institutionalized" racism.

Change my mind.

You can never change a persons emotions with logic. The only thing that can change your opinion about black people is to go through something extremely emotional to the degree that it creates an epiphany. Its kind of like the turning point of the civil rights movement and the general racism of America. When America witnessed water hoses and dogs being unleashed upon black women and children engaged in peaceful protest in the south......the emotions that it created were so powerful that it changed the course of history....and it shamed people....supposedly God fearing people. It sent out images around the world about America and what white people were like in America....all the while America was parading around the world condemning other countries for human right violations in their "holier than thou" geopolitical agenda.

We are at the point now where all the low hanging fruit of racism- such as slavery, segregation and legalized racial discrimination- have feel to the ground or have been picked. Gone are the days of explicit racism, white sheets and hoods, cross burning, lynchings and the like. What is left behind is essentially the doctrine of white superiority over blacks. There is nothing that can manifest an emotional change in most people on a national scale, as was the case during the civil rights violence against blacks. Seeing someone as inferior is not the same as hatred. People see their pets as inferior....see their young children as mentally inferior.....yet...they love them. Most people link racism with "hate", but hate is simply the extreme manifestation of racism.

When a person believes that blacks are innately inferior, then the explanation to any lagging performance or behavior will be seen as because of that inferior nature. Any explanation other than an admission of racial inferiority will be seen as an EXCUSE. A person who believes that blacks are inherently equal to whites, in abilities and capacities, CANNOT logically conclude blacks being in an inferior condition as "self created" or "organic" to the nature of blacks. Think about this. You have indisputable evidence of centuries long oppression of a race of people, yet, a person with such knowledge dismisses that as an influence on their current inequality and favors a belief that its something "internal" to their nature.

If you take two seeds, plant them and later come back to find one has grown into a strong plant while the other's growth is much less....what is the explanation? Now. There are two factors. The genetics (internal) of the seed and the external factors (sun, soil and rain). Now, think about this. Knowing the one seed was given inferior sun, soil and rain over the MAJORITY of the period, a person still believes that such does not have anything to do with the growth difference between the plants, but rather, something endemic to the seed. Essentially the person BELIEVES that one seed was genetically defective to the other....and its true....if a seed is genetically defective then no amount of good sun, good soil or good rain is going to make the seed grow and produce like a "superior" seed. If a seed is inferior and defective....then it's growth and yield will be inferior and defective relative to the "good seed".

Black people are seen as an inferior/defective human seed. It's this defect that results in higher crime rates, higher out of wedlock birth rates, higher poverty rates, lower test scores, etc. Many people acknowledge all those bad things that happened to blacks.....but they don't think those things are linked to their shortcomings today. The way they see it, had blacks been free and treated equally over the last 300 years.....blacks would still be poorer, have higher crime rates, have more single parent homes, have lower test scores, etc.....due to our nature being inferior to whites. You cannot change peoples minds who believe this!!!

Demwits making blacks into victims keeps them on the plantation. Too scary to go out into the big, bad world and compete. In other words, Demwits think blacks are stupid.
