Every policy Trump has put in place has hurt Russia. Energy Policy especially as it has kept the price of oil and gas low and that's where Russia gets all its revenue. But also foreign, trade, national defense, etc all have not been pro Russia at all. Plus there was no Russian collusion so, now just more Russia lies, and TDS by the nutty Left.

Those who shout the loudest usually have the most to hide.

Putting in measures unfavorable to Russia doesn't exculpate any prior political cooperation with Russia; it's just part of a sales pitch. Trump is a salesman who looks after his own arse first, and dumps anyone who gets in his way. Putin knows this, so he's biding his time. All he wants is normalization following the Ukrainian land grab.
