Gov. Gavin Newsom says President Donald Trump has called him and expressed commitment to helping California recover from two earthquakes that hit the state in as many days.
Speaking to reporters after touring the damage zone, Newsom said Saturday that he and Trump talked about the struggles California has been through, including two devastating wildfires that happened just six months ago.
The Democratic governor said “there’s no question we don’t agree on everything, but one area where there’s no politics, where we work extremely well together, is our response to emergencies.”
“He’s committed in the long haul, the long run, to help support the rebuilding efforts,” Newsom said of Trump.
So I doubt Trump would support aid for earthquakes, then withhold aid for wildfires.

Not defending trump here but these kinds of argument people use to try and bash the president really fail when one has a larger understanding of how and why we give money to other nations. We can point to the boatloads of money we give to other nations at the expense of our own people. We have people living in abject poverty here and we throw money at various corrupt, sometimes third world nations whilst our people here suffer.
When you look under the hood at all of this and you look at all of the crap that goes on surrounding money it's enough to make you sick. This has happened since forever and it's not limited to one party. That why when people blather on about how the Dims are better or how the Repugs are better I sorta just laugh it off. They ain't looking out for you and the sooner you realize that the better off you'll be.
We always have money for war and war toys but not for schools, etc etc. Surely the OP has heard that phrase at some point.
