Seems very odd to me that a group of people, asking to be President of the United States, would shun the American Flag and instead choose to stand under a symbol for the EU.
As has been said, the EU flag has 12 yellow stars. I didn't count the stars in the video posted by the OP, but there look to be enough to be fifty stars, and they are not yellow. The whole stage was decorated with red, white, and blue. In addition, before the debate began, there was a color guard that marched the Stars and Stripes into the theater, before the Star Spangled Banner was sung.
Yes, there was a flag, thanks to the color guard; and enough American iconography, that nobody could possibly mistake it for anything European.

Come on now, they are just following Obama's lead who did win the (D) nomination by not wearing the American flag pin on his lapel, and not holding his hand over his heart like the other candidates in 2008.

Obama was a die hard American flag waver, and even made me proud on occasion, compared to this Latest batch of Leftist.

It is because they believe the American Flag is RACIST, as it flew during years of oppression of Blacks, Women, LGBT, etc. First it was the Thirteen Star "Betsy Ross" flag, now it is the current flag with Fifty Stars. Sad, these self loathing America Haters are so angry at everything.
