Most of us see the Taliban for what it is, but we don't see why we should be the ones to fix that problem.

We have forgotten lessons learned. You can't go in and bomb people, kill grand pa and all his goats, and then expect the survivors to like you. They will never like you as long as you stay.

You have a choice. Go in and annihilate your enemy and then leave, or just dont bother with it.
Agreed. Annihilation can work for ambitious states that want to build a modern utopia on-top of an old civilization.

Mascaraing 'backwards' people has worked for centuries. And if you are a utilitarian modernist/liberal why should it be a bad thing? Say Afghanistan is a place women are beaten, people have a low life span, medical care mainly consists of local herbs, and food shortages are common.

Why wouldn't a liberal modernist say its a good thing to slaughter everyone and build modern health facilities and bring social liberalism to the land. In fact conservatives directly make that argument to why killing the native Americans was good; before they were backwards people, now the Americans came and developed farm land increasing food supply and industrialized the land with train rails and modern medicine.

But you have to pick one, you can't be holier than thou and fight an 'honest' war and expect to win. If America does not have the stomach for mass slaughter we should just give up. I don't care which we pick, I just hate the we can have it all mentality of our leaders.

Breaking news. Trump says he cancelled a secret meeting this weekend with the Taliban at Camp David because of another reported US casualty in Afghanistan?

when you think of all the Americans Obama sent to their death there claiming Afghanistan was the real war while he sat idly by for 8 years watching our military die, never once trying to stop the fighting.

We're still stalking that war with Iran.

You mean the bi-partisan war that Obama could have ended? That war? Then we have Libya and Syria.

When will the partisan people hold their own accountable? How can you expect to be taken seriously when you give one side a free pass?

These wars aren't like the ACA that didn't get a single GOP vote. These wars enjoyed bipartisan support. I'm sorry but voting present doesn't earn a free pass. These war votes were a yea or nay choice.

Yet, strangely, Trump has managed to accomplish more than his predecessors and so called experts who kept repeating the same things over and over with no results.

Why am I still surprised when citizens root for the failure of their country?

Looks like killing one of ours, keeps us there indefinitely.

It is harder to make friends, than to create an enemy.
No wonder the lunatic left cannot get anything done. They seem to be in perpetual hate.

What are you dreaming of?

There is no deal with anybody.

There are lots of hopes and wishes and agreements for some trade deals, maybe some day some kind of peace deals.

An accomplishment is something that gets COMPLETED. Not something promised, hoped for, maybe could be in the works.

How naive are people today to think Trump is any further ahead in diplomacy or trade with anybody.
