Cars,

Consumer debt,
Get rid of the Internet, smartphones, iPads, streaming services and cable, and only buy cars you can afford by paying cash. That would be a start.

You mean the same dumbazzes who went deep in debt for a useless degree in Gender Studies is now going farther in debt because they think they deserve to drive a Lexus and live in a big house ?

Don't blame that one on Trump. Someone raised spoiled sheltered kids.

Stanley Johnson must have raised his kids to be just like him.

Facebook is making it even worse. People only post good things like vacation picks and new cars that make it seem like everyone else is doing far better than you.

Well let's not forget that Trump is the self-proclaimed "King of Debt"- he's not exactly discouraging American's from spending beyond their means, what with his golden toilets and his $130k hush money payouts to high priced hookers. He even has his own brand of everything to offer up to our most impoverished citizens, whose only salvation is the sad fact that they might sport a Trump logo on their steak or their golf shirt.

We are talking about a person who championed $1.5 trillion in tax cuts, only to raise spending by $320 billion, when we are already running on $1.0 trillion+ deficits.

What I found most interesting in the article was the differential in growth between costs and incomes. All adjusted for inflation, from 1998-2017, education costs up 311%, housing 290%, health care 51%, income 14%. Doesn't anyone else see a problem with that?

Honestly it all depends on your priorities, I would rather have all of the things you mentioned to get rid of first than to have a car.

Well Finn - my husband and I wouldn't be struggling if we had our old insurance - unfortunately your hero decided that we could afford to not only pay more for our insurance - but pay more each month for services we'll never use, as well as pay increased co-pays, deductibles, and out of pocket expenses.

Let me know when Trump and the GOP start doing that. Trillion dollar annual deficits under the current spender in Chief

Here in Florida we have commercials all the time to lease a Cadillac Escalade for $899.00 a month for 24 months with a 2000 dollar deposit. With the price of trucks, big SUVs and luxury cars, I can see a payment above $1000.00 dollars.

American car companies better hope gas prices stay low forever because these huge SUVs will be hard to move with gas above $3.00 a gallon.
