Maybe she asked him to check her headlights! That could be confusing if you are ESL.

I don't understand the problems here. with all the griping people do about everything being expensive, now they're complaining about being offered discounts?

Tee hee guys, sexual harassment is hilarious.

In fact women are always at a disadvantage when they go to a car repair shop, or dealing with workers like contractors, plumbers, etc. We actually have to be leery to be alone with them, because you never know who you are really dealing with. This woman was alone in the car with the guy, and I give her the benefit of the doubt.

I have seen such things happen with full figured women friends, some things quite shocking. Propositions, crude remarks, and assumptions that they are willing to do things, just because of their body types. Good for this lady to be offended that this idiot would make these assumptions to proposition her as part of a business transaction.

Regardless, if true, not a very professional thing for any business to do.

Damn. It is just the opposite for me.
On more than one occasion, the woman of the house had offered a perk when the final payment is due, when I finished..

1. I have a relative that got trapped into marriage by a gal that got pregnant with another guys kid. But hey, that's women for ya right?

2) I have another friend accused of sexual assault until....ooops....the area had a camera the accuser didn't know about. Turns out they'd gotten turned in for doing something bad (very bad) and didn't get fired so they sought revenge against my friend.

3) If a woman (or man) cannot read reviews and find a good repair shop, that's on them. It's not 1950. Most places that would rip someone off would do so to anyone wandering in appearing to be clueless and that's something the consumer needs to prepare for.

Sorry but we can agree to condemn bad action but no, that's enough with the tee hee...general accusations against all men and I'm super glad that you believe her just based upon her word because "other guys did it". You'd be wonderful on a jury for a black guy accused of robbing a gas station.

No, sexual harassment isn't funny, but how some people immediately believe every allegation, is--except for the person being accused, of course.

As for me, color me skeptical, especially since mechanics don't set prices in these establishments.

And she's already contacted an attorney, in anticipation for a bonanza-- or at least enough to purchase a new car because, remember, hers hasn't been working.

Give me a very large break.

No, this woman is a joke. Big difference.

Do you honestly believe the guy working in the shop sets the prices or can give discounts? He's not the one customers pay. He wouldn't have the authority to do that.

If it doesn't make sense, your spidey senses should be raising some red flags. This doesn't make sense.

The thing is, there are probably more than a few women who would be pretty pleased with an offer like this.

Just saying.

But it’s okay to get knocked up in the UK. And being pissed is fun.

Why is she a "joke", because she might be poor, not classy enough?

Maybe he just made it up about the discount so he could see her boobs because he's a pervert. Maybe the manager would have gone along with it because - hehe, atta boy. Maybe they inflate prices and tell customers they will give them discounts anyway, this one just wanted something for it. Auto shops are notorious for game playing with prices and services. Many are pretty shady too, they get away with a lot of crap and can't find good help, thus may hire some rough characters.

Geez, you would think you folks were nave about how the world (stlll) works. Every freakin' day some regular Joe gets charged with things like sexual assault, lewdness, child porn, setting up a spy camera in a dressing or bath room (happened at the tanning salon I used to go to, nicest guy too), etc.... Women have to be careful in everyday situations beyond just normal bad business practices. This isn't even that bad as far as sexual harassment goes, so it is believable.
