Unfreakinbelievable...There was a man in Germany back in the 1930's who also wanted you to rat out your neighbors.

Becoming a bounty hunter may soon get a lot easier.

SpotSquad is a mobile phone application in the works that allows users to report illegally parked cars and get a cut of the fine paid as a reward.

Created by a technology startup in Winnipeg, Canada, the app aims to crowdsource parking enforcement at privately run lots and potentially on public streets.

The reporting process is as simple as taking a photo of the car, which is GPS tagged while optical character recognition reads and records the license plate number, then choosing from a list the type of infraction observed -- everything from expired meters to unauthorized parking in a handicapped spot.

Awesome, my old neighborhood in Portland, Or was right next to the college and we always had tons of people illegally parking on my street to the point that I had parking enforcement in my phone numbers on my phone. An app would of made it so much easier and would of made the city so much money.

Good. can't believe how many times i see non-placard cars park in handicap stalls and those who take advantage of broken meters.

Or when I'm walking down the sidewalk and a car is parked ON the sidewalk because they can't fit in their driveway.

At my old street in Boston, people attending the nearby funeral home would clog up our dead-end street to the point where nobody could get in or out - to the point where we had people parked on the sidewalk, directly blocking the only entrance to the house. Being a kid, my natural response was to simply walk on their cars. But yeah, this ap would have been nice to have for then - or for cases like when some idiot would park in the middle of the street during a snowstorm, and then acted shocked when the plow simply shoved all the snow onto their car.
