Actually the only ones that say that are deniers...No scientist says it....What they say is that we have 12 years to reduce CO2 emissions to prevent runaway warming.

We should all be terrified.

Don't be so certain. Many are interested in promoting socialism.

My degree is physics with concentration in quantum mechanics. I can't tell you how many times people have asked me to explain quantum mechanics to them fully expecting me to make them understand with 1 or 2 sentences of dumbed down english.

The fact of the matter is it takes years and years of study and practice to understand science, just like everything else in life. A computer scientist didn't become a computer scientist after being explained in a couple sentences what computer science is about. I didn't become a civil engineer after watching somebody mix some concrete. My sister didn't become a mathematician after doing some arithmetic in the grocery store.

Nowadays, we live in an age where everybody and their grandmother thinks just because they could google search something means their opinion equals the expert opinions out there. This is why I hate talking about things in my own fields with other people.
So you learned science.. even if it takes a long time and effort...

But you didn't just reject it simply because it was inconvenient to your views and preconceived notions.... that's part of critical thought.... The first post in this thread is an example of what happens when you are missing those basic skill sets.

"The thinking mind" would give this serious consideration.

And conclude that tRumpism is the opposite of rationality.

Climate change/ global warming is the biggest world threat we face. Those who deny it are either very ignorant or care more about their current profits and reliance on fossil fuels than about the welfare of future generations.

Some aspects of science have been manipulated for political gain.
And public opinion is being swayed by threats of fear rather than facts.

Kids are crying because they are being told that the world will end in 12 years because of climate change.
That's not teaching science. That is using fear as a powerful motivator to sway your opinion. They call that propaganda.
NO ONE said the world will end in 12 years. That's another lie from right-wing nut job websites.

I am certain that it was very, very little. Perhaps some highschool classes, but noting in college and certainly no degrees in a scientific field whatsoever.

Google cut and paste does not equate to actual education.

Au contraire-

The ignorance is on your part. A cursory examination of the fossil record and the relationship between CO2 and temp reveals the lunacy of AGW. Further, the physics of the contention makes no sense at all- except to those who don't understand physics.

AGW is a hoax, nothing else. Future generations will look upon this period in disbelief that so many people were so easily fooled over an obvious hoax.
