Per Capita income in Baltimore city is higher than in all of the solid red states in the south and income is growing faster in Baltimore too. To be fair, Texas which is getting a little purplish, has a statewide per capita income about 2% higher than Baltimore City's. In particular, the super-red southern states of Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and West Virginia all have per capita incomes between 6% and 21% below Baltimore's. Georgia and Tennessee do better and are only 2% to 4% lower than Baltimore City. Over the past five years per capita income in Baltimore has grown by close to 18% while growing by 8% to 12% in the southern red states and 11% nationally.

None of this takes away from my contention that Baltimore City needs to be punished for stealing and wasting the billions in federal funds that made its rapid growth possible. Entities located in Baltimore City need to be banned from receiving federal money, and those funds need to be redistributed to the poor southern red states that really need the money. It is easy to see why my President is so angry at Baltimore for stealing money that rightly belongs to the American people.
