Trump is the real disgrace to the country (as well as all of humanity).

Thank you! Probably don't agree with you on much. But very good post!

This is not the type of behavior we should accept from a President. This is more akin to a 12 year old boy.

Neither is insulting the entire state of California. Talking down on an entire state isn't going to make California voters want to vote for Trump. If anything, many Californians will remember this and double down on voting Democrat out of spite. You don't get votes from a state by insulting that state. The only thing this will accomplish is to drive more wedges into American society.

To most of Trump's base, only the rural South and parts of the Midwest qualifies as the 'real America.' So that comment resonates with Trump's base even though you are right in that it further divides the country.

That is still no excuse for Trump saying what he said. Trump was still wrong for what he said. Period.

I agree, Trump isn't worried about California....but, he might be worried about the idea spreading to a swing state.

Only Trump himself knows what is in his head/if he is worried about the idea spreading to a swing state.

Are Democrats in Cali worried Trump could win the state now? That seems to be only reason to pass a law like that all of a sudden.
Nope. Another reason is to 'push Trump's buttons', so to speak, and get the reaction that he is currently exhibiting, hoping that that sticks in the minds of people and costs him votes in swing states in 2020.

perhaps Democrats in CA should focus on making California a more sanitary place rather than Trump's tax returns.
I agree.

It's a silly and petty exercise by Newsom and the legislature, one that may get overturned in court, and one that I don't think will cost Trump the votes they think it might.

as a lifelong California resident, I agree.

Dont take my word for it, come with your own eyeballs and walk with your own feet, on the streets of DTLA or San Fran. You can come to a trendy street like Spring St in downtown LA, and just walk a few blocks over to San Pedro or Central Ave and it looks like a horror movie.

People living in tents under the freeway overpasses and crapping on the streets, walking around mumbling to themselves and looking for meth - meanwhile at Oceanwide Plaza across the street from the Staples Center, people will prolly pay 959k for a 1,000sq ft condo rising 49 stories into the sky. People driving Ferraris and sipping champagne, next to people only alive because they get SocSecurity disability checks.

I've watched mayors Bradley, Riordan, (I skipped the Hahn era) and Villaraigosa and now Garcetti come and go. They dont do shieet about the homeless problem. They simply grow like a Biblical Plague.

lol Trump's not trying to win California but I think his comments will increase his vote count in California.

He's linking the problems in California to Democrats.
