Where did you read how the shooter got his gun ?
I looked and couldn't find anything about how he got the gun.

Well, there you go.

What's the point of talking when it is declared right off the bat that the other side is not interested.

Reminds me of when I was discussing with my arms dealer the scenario of being on desert patrol and coming across a drug airplane being loaded up, me with an AR-10....because that round does horrors to engine blocks. One of the things that I recall from that conversation is that I would want an automatic AR-10....and not the semi, from Armalite itself, that he sold me.

One is and one isn't.

They'll always blame the gun. They have to be able to dis-arm us before they can enslave us. That's why we have the 2nd Amendment in the first place. It's why the founders of this great nation fought and won a revolution against tyranny. Gun control has nothing to do with controlling those that can't be controlled no matter how many laws are passed. It's about controlling US.

I don't know either but that hasn't stopped your side from writing prescriptions how to stop shootings.

Indeed it does. It's all part of the plan to incrementally abolish the 2nd Amendment. Of which the national news media by and large are co-conspirators.

Then why are they always pointing at Australia's gun confiscation program as a model for the United States?

So you actually do want our guns.

I've undergone a background check for every firearm I've purchased.

In the Happyland Fire in 1990 87 people were killed with what was a dollars worth of gasoline at the time, a container and a match or lighter. That's 28 more than what Paddock killed with a bunch of AR's equipped with bump stocks and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

By your logic I'm all for registration, competence tests and mandatory insurance for anyone who purchases gasoline or any other flammable liquid's, a match or lighter and the containers of which to carry it in.

Just recently this past July in Japan which has some of the strictest gun laws in the world an arsonist killed 33 people.

Quote:
Thirty-three people have died and dozens have been left injured after a suspected arson attack in an animation studio in Kyoto, Japan.

A man reportedly shouted “You die!” before setting fire to Kyoto Animation studio on Thursday, local media reports. A woman who saw the suspect being detained said he was shouting about being plagiarized, according to Reuters.

With 33 dead, the fire is the worst mass killing in Japan since a man stabbed and killed 19 people at an assisted living facility in western Tokyo in 2016.

Breaking: At least 18 people were shot inside a Walmart.

We in America live in a world where the distance between bigotry and bullets is miniscule.

The thread was titled 18 people shot, before we all unfortunately learned it now should read: 20 slaughtered and 26 wounded with some barely clinging to life.

The El Paso murderer expressed ideas consistent with the white supremacist/white nationalist movement and he is a domestic terrorist. Where is our national outrage and united response to this terrorism?

Can this really be the United States of America?

Of course they do, many have stated it publicly even on this forum. Who the hell are you trying to kid? Anything can be labeled as an assault weapon if it's used to assault someone.

You certainly don't have any problems demonizing others when you label anyone who disagrees with your own hateful rhetoric as "racist". That seems to be a common trait amongst Democrats. Yet they can't seem to figure out why this country is so divided?

No. The Rs and Ds get a copy of the sign in sheet, or computer list. That along with stamping the voter registration prevents people who voted in one party primary from voting in the run-off of the other party.

When I go to register to vote, I am not required to tell the county clerk what political party I am a member of. Nowhere does the Great State of Texas compelling me to declare a party affiliation just to register.

Some places like New York require you to list your party preference when you just register. And as Donald Trump's kids discovered, you have to officially change that preference in order to vote in another's party primary 6 months before th election.
