Ah, and there it is. It's only going to become more diverse and more multicultural. Get used to it. I say thank God some of the "values and ideals" of this country have been lost because from what I understand of the history of this country those value and ideals only benefited one demographic.

The shooter was 21 years old, lived at home, was a loner and hated working.
What does a Trump rally have to do with that ?

There was a time not too long ago, anyone could go to Europe and Africa without the risk of being attacked by some deranged lunatic. Now, we got people being stabbed and mowed down by vehicles, bombs being set off at races, and mass terrorist activity going on throughout Africa. It's like the whole world is very, very angry, and many people have decided to kill is the only way to cope with that anger.

Most people still wouldn’t bother carrying, but a few would. And the shooter would’t know which ones in the crowd, they were.

Some of the shooters would likely change their minds and not do it in the first place.

And how many lives would be saved as a result, without a shot being fired?
Of course they would be just as likely. It's highly unlikely that any one would be concealed carrying an assault rifle. So any law-abiding citizens would be out gunned. So they would be running for their lives like everyone else. Most mass shooters don't expect to survive anyway. So the possibility of a law-abiding citizen shooting them instead of a LEO would have no impact on their decision.

As others have already pointed out, all your plan would do is have a lot of law-abiding citizens shooting each other, and also being shot by arriving LEOs who would have no idea who the bad guy is.

He was a busy boy. He liked to spell things with guns and write about how much he hated immigrants.

It took all of five seconds to find an error, so who knows how many more (it is the NYT after all, a publication known for errors).

Alek Minassian, the Toronto van killer, was not a white supremacist, racism was not a motive.

Ah, took another five seconds to find another error;the Munich mall shooting was by an Iranian, and white supremacy was not the motive, no political motive at all, he was mad and wanted revenge for some issue.
