I promise you, that all the white folks I see at Walmart around here, are not liberals, not even close. I live in the deep south and a red state, and just as many whites if not more shop at our local Walmarts.

Now that is a weak argument at best. Tell that to the many many victims of Chicago violence. It isn't Billy Bob Johnson from Redneckville visiting Chicago killing good people for no reason.

Mass shooters regardless of race are human scum. They are ambush shooters because they are cowards. They select large crowds and attack at random, because they are cowards. Coward isn't a race, cowards come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Making it about race serves no purpose.

How many concealed carry would it take to make a difference, 100, 500. How many is too many, how do you tell them apart from the shooter.

Often enough. The arresting officer stopped and bought Dylann Roof a hamburger on the way to jail.

Libs, liberals, *******s, leftists, socialist, communist, anti-American. A fan of the first amendment but when did it become acceptable to have discourse like this? Jeanine Pirro has perfected the dripping with disgust "liberals" that I've overheard frequently in public.

Dissent is necessary in a democracy. When one side views the other with this amount of contemp, something's seriously wrong.

Quotes from this thread:

"Have CD’s left wing mongrels ever passed up a chance to attack the President?"

"And the problem with Liberals in America is that they're dishonest (yes the end goal is total firearm confiscation from civilians) and are never satisfied."

"well of course with Mueller time being over, now the libs setup another shooting so they can go back to the gun control campaign. This is too easy to predict these days."

"It's just the Demoncrats that are effed up, but we can't seem to get support to keep Demoncrats from having guns "

"I wonder if this guy was an illegal, and if they will try to cover that up"

"I honestly believe a fair amount of liberals are giddy when they hear about mass shootings."

"The Left only cares about those shootings they can capitalize on."

"We already have plenty of evidence why hateful Muslims should not be in Congress."

"liberals ready to capitalize on a tragedy to push their agenda. Pretty sad"

"The only hate I see in this thread is the leftists hating on white conservative men."

The problem with Liberals in America is that they are really stubborn and don’t want to change. Every other modern country doesn't have a 2nd Amendment and Bill of Rights. We are not like every other modern country and many of us don't want to be. By changing our gun laws you mean abolishing the 2nd Amendment and confiscating every lawfully owned gun in the United States? Or at the very least criminalizing their ownership and lawful use as it would be nearly impossible to ban and confiscate every single one unless you're willing to abolish all due process rights as well. Not to mention a violation of Ex Post facto statutes that are written into the Constitution.

There are already thousands of specific gun laws on the books that address their criminal and negligent mis-use. Along with thousands of laws that address every conceivable criminal act imaginable. We don't need any more laws that only serve to criminalize the innocent while rewarding the guilty. As the guilty will be the only ones left with their guns. Criminals don't obey laws no matter how many laws that there are. Especially those that are on a suicide mission and don't expect to come out of it alive.
Ex post facto is most typically used to refer to a criminal statute that punishes actions retroactively, thereby criminalizing conduct that was legal when originally performed. Two clauses in the United States Constitution prohibit ex post facto laws:

Art 1, § 9
This prohibits Congress from passing any laws which apply ex post facto.
Art. 1 § 10.
This prohibits the states from passing any laws which apply ex post facto.

At a minimum, ex post facto prohibits legislatures from passing laws which retroactively criminalize behavior. ---https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/ex_post_facto

Ex post facto laws retroactively change the rules of evidence in a criminal case, retroactively alter the definition of a crime, retroactively increase the punishment for a criminal act, or punish conduct that was legal when committed. They are prohibited by Article I, Section 10, Clause 1, of the U.S. Constitution. An ex post facto law is considered a hallmark of tyranny because it deprives people of a sense of what behavior will or will not be punished and allows for random punishment at the whim of those in power.

The prohibition of ex post facto laws was an imperative in colonial America. The Framers of the Constitution understood the importance of such a prohibition, considering the historical tendency of government leaders to abuse power. As Alexander Hamilton observed, "[i]t is easy for men … to be zealous advocates for the rights of the citizens when they are invaded by others, and as soon as they have it in their power, to become the invaders themselves." The desire to thwart abuses of power also inspired the Framers of the Constitution to prohibit bills of attainder, which are laws that inflict punishment on named individuals or on easily ascertainable members of a group without the benefit of a trial. Both ex post facto laws and bills of attainder deprive those subject to them of due process of law—that is, of notice and an opportunity to be heard before being deprived of life, liberty, or property.---https://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Ex+Post+Facto+Laws

Many seem to be surrendering recently. I wonder if these massacres would decrease if cops went in, told, "shoot to kill".

IMO mass murderers should not have any legal right to surrender.

The point being, as we both know, Trump has promoted xenophobia, racism, and violence from day one. The El Paso shooter is merely Trump's exhortations taken to their logical end.

So in essence, good guys with a gun don't mean **** in a life or death scenario. Nothing but lip service.
No it means that just because someone is carrying doesn't mean that they should seek out a fire fight.

No offense, but why should I abandon my family if I am with them and go look for the shooter?

Now If I am in the crowd being fired upon I will do what I can to protect myself and my family.

Most good guys with a gun scenarios happen when they are directly threatened by the active shooter.

If I am in Walmart 3 aisles over and I hear shooting, I am grabbing my family and going the opposite direction. My family comes first always.

Show me something.
WHY are you citing FEDERAL prison numbers? Only a TINY percentage (3.3%) of federal prison inmates are there because of convictions for violent crimes. In fact the number of federal prisoners in prison for violent crimes is roughly HALF the number in prison for immigration crimes. Most violent offenders end up in STATE prisons.
