There was more to learn by doing that than by reciting the same prayer every morning. "Waste not, want not."

If parents feel prayer for kids is important, they should lead it at home in the morning before the kids go to school rather than expect the school teacher or anybody at the school to do it. Should a Baptist teacher lead the prayer with Catholic or Jewish kids present? No. Teacher asking kids to step how who don't want to pray would likely lead to bullying.
I agree with you. But parents should also parent (in the total sense of the word). And many don't.

Schools should be in the business of teaching academics. Not feeding breakfast and lunch. Not providing permission for kids to walk out in protest over something they are told to be angry about. Not accommodating half a class that has never held a pencil and doesn't know how to speak English. Not eliminating physical education, art and music. Not disrespecting the president of the United States. Not promoting progressive political agendas. Not providing agenda driven sex ed classes with no parental opt-out. Not providing safe spaces, bubbles and therapy dogs because someone who wasn't supposed to become president, became the president. But many schools do everything BUT teach.

The foundation of a house is like the foundation of a society. The foundation is shaky, the house is shaky. And if you undercut every. single. thing that is (or was) the foundation of our society, don't expect to have a healthy and stable society. Parents, teachers, police officers, clergy, our history, our laws and constitution and Bill of Rights - everything and everyone we used to look to for support and direction............what are people supposed to hold onto? When there is nothing to hold on to, people flounder. Including young people.

Drug use is OK. We don't need borders. The constitution is old fashioned. The cops are bad guys and so are the military. It's OK to crap in the streets. Let's give you some money for not working. 95% of kids in a school can't read or write - let's throw money at the problem. There are 57 genders - pick one. It's OK - tomorrow you can pick another. Jump a turnstile, urinate in the doorway, ignore the church and hey, let's legalize prostitution. No foundation. No house.

Bet he means Christian prayer. Pretty sure he doesn't want Muslim prayers five times a day.

Regardless, what an asinine statement to make! The problem is unrestricted access to guns, the problem is the radicalization of white Christian youth, the problem is lack of mental health screening.

Not some flippin' Republican's wish list of a Christian Taliban nation.

When will politicians start addressing the gun problem. I am a gun owner, but I want safe storage laws, I want training laws, and most of all, I want screening laws as to WHO buys guns. Effective ones. Not the namby pamby drivel that some are proposing, or worse yet, nothing at all.
That is insane.

I mean, that is just as insane as blaming the president for the shootings.

...oh wait.

Which would be rather lengthy thread all by itself.

Folks have been using God to justify all sorts of murderous acts.

Massacres of the Native Americans was justified with religious blather.

Ha! So taking time to write thoughtfully is flowery? Brevity isn't a bad thing, but stupid ideas are.

You can save the gaslighting conflation of the terms "white nationalist" and "nationalist" for the people too dumb to know the difference.

Sorry, we have a term for those white individuals that hate other colors...white supremist. You are falling for the same old trick that the left and the media do over and over again... they come up with a buzzword and people just eat it up...the left wore out the word "racist" so now it's on to the next new bad guy, the "white nationalist"

Prayer is neither evil nor asinine, until you start introducing it as a solution to problems like America's Gun Violence epidemic.

Nope "white nationalist" is a term that has been around since at least the 70s and has a pre established definition. It isn't a media trick to understand the history and definition of terms regardless of how much you personally wish it was. And if you don't understand what the definition of the term is you probably shouldn't be identifying as it.

From merian Webster:
Definition of white nationalist
: one of a group of militant whites who espouse white supremacy and advocate enforced racial segregation

Here's a fun paragraph from the wkki:

"Analysts describe white nationalism as overlapping with white supremacism and white separatism.[7][4][6][8][9][10] White nationalism is sometimes described as a euphemism for, or subset of, white supremacism, and the two have been used interchangeably by journalists and analysts.[8][11] White separatism is the pursuit of a "white-only state"; supremacism is the belief that white people are superior to nonwhites and should dominate them,[6][8][9] taking ideas from social Darwinism and Nazism.[12] White nationalists generally avoid the term "supremacy" because it has negative connotations.[13][14]"

Hey wait a second, the bolded text sounds exactly like what you are trying and failing to do here!! Hmmmmmmmm....

So what's the next gaslighting response? Call the dictionary a liberal conspiracy is my prediction.

Look at the cause, not the tool.

If you want to regulate rights, let's regulate the "news" media, forcing them to actually report news in a relatively unbiased fashion, NOT practice advocacy pravda-style "journalism" which is what 90% of today's "news" is.

Fix the school system. Rather than programming kids to be pro-socialist and automatically hate the right, go back 100 years ago when school was extremely difficult and a HS diploma certified far more knowledge and reason than a bachelor's degree today, kids learned facts, languages, and how to think and reason.

The NEA has been the most destructive force in "education" for the past 50 years. JFK created major problems when he allowed public employees to unionize. Unions quickly become the problem they were created to solve.

The Dayton shooter
This is probably something CNN won’t be sharing with its audience, but there’s some pretty striking news on the shooter who perpetrated the Dayton, OH shooting, which followed an equally tragic shooting in El Paso, TX by what appears to be a white supremacist.

Heavy.com got access to the shooter’s social media. Contrary to the media narrative currently boiling over, this shooter was not a Trump fan. In fact, he hated Trump, hated Republicans, was an avowed leftist, used antifa style language in his posts, and loved Elizabeth Warren.

https://www.redstate.com/bonchie/201...th-warren-fan/

Agitprop media hide behind the first amendment but if you learn to filter, it will be revealed to you what a bunch of propagandists they are.

There ARE screening laws. If states and the feds don't work together, and often those forms don't get kicked upstairs, then all the laws on earth will do nothing.
