We have so many mass shootings in the US if something isn't going to be done it will affect either us or someone we know.

Not weekly. We have had 250 mass shootings in 216 days this year in the United States.

A couple of other First World countries have had one, most have had none. We are the ones doing it wrong, and we are obviously either too stupid, too unconcerned, or too owned by lobbyists to find out what others are doing and do the same.
