Not weekly. We have had 250 mass shootings in 216 days this year in the United States.
A couple of other First World countries have had one, most have had none. We are the ones doing it wrong, and we are obviously either too stupid, too unconcerned, or too owned by lobbyists to find out what others are doing and do the same.

Should that be an excuse to kill and maim innocent people? I, for one am sick of excuses, something more needs to be done. You can't go out in our country, without the possibility of not coming home? Does sound like a war zone.
What we need is a way to predict this kind of violence before it happens. Mopping up the mess helps no one. How do we get inside their heads to figure out what they're planning before they kill dozens of people? Freedom of speech is all well and good, but we need to know when someone is stockpiling weapons, etc. I'm sure that some people will complain about their rights, but you know what? In this day and age, my grandson's right to go to school without his parents being in fear for his life is more important than a gun owner's rights - and if that gun owner isn't trying to hide anything, it shouldn't be an issue.
It's not much different than addiction, and you're not going to legislate it away.
You are literally waving a white flag to crazed mass shooters and condoning their unlimited access to weapons that will kill many more innocent Americans.
