If you had included the option that humans have contributed, not caused, but contributed to and all share some responsibility for this climate change and the highly unusual speed in which it's happening this time, then I would have voted for that.

But saying that humans have directly caused climate change is just nonsense, it isn't even possible. And saying that humans have nothing to do with climate change at all and it's normal the way it is happening this time is just as much nonsense. I think everybody knows that, even the deniers who won't admit it publically know in their hearts that humans have something to do with it this time round but they don't want to accept any personal responsibility for their own contributions to it.
.
I think that we are the chief cause of present climate change, so I totally disagree. Scientists are telling us that it is changing at the most rapid rate in history. What other factor would be contributing more than us?

good questions. doubt they'll be answered - and they really ARE the crux of what we do for climate change/effects.

One side wants to shame the other by asserting that man's evil nature has caused us to get to this point. But they never try and answer the question the way you've posed it.

Is the climate warming?-Yes. On a macro scale we are still coming out of an ice age-a cyclic phenomenon.

Is the burning of fossil fuels a contributing factor? -Perhaps.

How much of a contributing factor is the burning of fossil fuels?-That is the real question-no one knows exactly.

Will destroying the US economy, putting millions out of work, perhaps leading to a global depression, do anything to reverse the impact of climate change? Not likely

Will the loudest proponents of "AGW" change their lifestyles, give up private jets, get rid of their luxury cars, live in a "tiny home" and sink their yachts to contribute to reversing the process?-get serious

Are some of the loudest proponents of "AGW" enriching themselves by promoting AGW?-absolutely. Look at Algore and his "carbon exchange" scheme-and the profits from fiction movies.
Nothing can stop what is to come with a mass die off within 120 years.

when you determine how something can be more than 100%, please let us all know so we can make a fortune on it.

and to claim "scientific evidence says" without any linking is utter BS.

you don't do anything to advance your position with such inanity.

Whether it's man made ir not, we still should be cleaning up our act and taking better care of the planet, and this especially applies to the Chinese, as too much emphasis is being placed on the US and not enough on China and other big potential polluters such as India.

sure, that's a desirable goal. but it's not the emergency or dire need you describe previously, nor what is shouted at us daily by the GND crowd.

what you don't seem to realize is that ALMOST EVERYTHING includes an economic factor. Economics in the pure sense of supply and demand and cost.

Meaning: any of us could reduce our "environmental cost" by $1,000,000 over the rest of the Earth's existence. But if it COSTS $2,000,000 to do it, then it doesn't make sense.

how many of the ~ 3 BILLION families have heat and AC? How many have any permanent electricity and water/waste disposal? I think you'd be shocked, and even if they ALL did, then you're using 1,000 AC's and heaters PER household.

So Iíll say this instead which I have before.

I lived in North Carolina has a kid in the winters they were much harsher and colder then they are now not to mention more snow then we get here now. But none of that matters to you because truthfully you donít care either way.
just provide the almanac year-by-year since your birth for western NC. Avg monthly temp each month, and total snowfalls. and total rainfall.

of course!

but look into the future. If we make all these GND steps, then in 20 years it may cost us $100 to make the life-changing widget that China makes for $10. You think enough of the other countries in the world are going to buy our $100 widget vs their $10 one?

Pssst!

There is no real temperature record predating the satellite era (1979).

Moreover, the satellite era began at the end of a decades-long cooling trend.

Now we are in a panic because people with something to gain from pushing the CAGW narrative have some pretend, made-up temperature data that never existed before and was just recently discovered when they guessed what it might have been.
