Republicans want to hold the individual responsible, Democrats want to take rights away from those who had nothing to do with it.

Which exactly proves the OP's point. Holding the perp responsible does not help prevent another mass shooting. These guys are expecting to die. The Dems want to prevent attacks. The Repubs don't. It is as simple as that.

The Dems want an end to individual rights. Those things are very inconvenient to their collectivism agenda.

Democrats on the other hand want to pass legislation that will address this problem by preventing the mentally ill and evil doers from getting their hands on weapons of mass murder. The problem is the NRA and the Republican party are preventing them from doing that.

So because of Republican inaction, our families have to live in a war zone which is everywhere America...movie theater's, night clubs, schools, Wal-Marts, garlic festivals, country music concerts, our playgrounds, our streets.
Exactly what solution has been offered by the Democrats that would be effective in preventing mass shootings? Since you are hyping them, you should be able to explain how they would work. Educate us, tell us how these solutions would a) prevent mass shootings and b) pass constitutional muster.

Same thing that worked in one particular demographic. Make sure they don't have enough money or presence in the mainstream to carry out their actions on innocent people going about their business in decent places. In other words, shut them out, lock them up before there is even a remote chance of frequent harm to the masses.

Democrats offer solutions, Republicans offer thoughts and prayers

Have any of the "solutions" offered by Democrats, EVER worked?

Curfews, stop and frisk, no warrant searches and allowingvthe government to jail people they believe are dangerous without trial would drastically reduce mass shootings. Would you support such actions or do you want them to continue?

You want to tighten up the gun laws you'll get little argument from me. If you try to take away legally owned firearms of the law abiding public, you'll get plenty of argument.

Just remember, criminals don't follow gun laws, and an evildoer bent on murder will either find a way to get a gun, or he will use another weapon.

A better use of political power would be to force companies to start installing metal detectors in stores, malls, etc. I don't really want to go down this route, but what other choice do we have?

Who indicated we weren’t going to hold theses people responsible, what good does that do after the fact. No one is taking away your right to own a gun. We need to address mental health issues and guns, any single minded solution is just dishonest.
