So that's what it's come to. The organization that's becoming so hated, that consistently thwarts the will of the American people - they just lean on the president, the supposed leader of the free world. (I wonder if they ever called Obama.)

The will of the people is to not have our civil rights eroded, that is why congress respects the will of the people, and doesn't pass more anti-gun legislation.

Only the will of the people is being completely ignored:

I'm an enthusiast and compete competively. I'm for the common sense laws, but wouldnt trust Democrats to administer them, especially with their never ending drift Leftward.

And as a Trump supporter and actual voter I'm warning Trump to not bow down to the NRA. Trump said behind doors he support universal background checks. We will see what happens, but depending how Republicans handle this, if the Democratic candidate is Biden, I may switch sides. I would never support a far leftie, but I could do Biden in a pinch.

Trump’s openness to extensive background checks for gun buys draws warning from NRA

92% of Americans want background checks.

The NRA is losing....all the Russian rubles in the world won't help.

NRA...Not Really American!

That's why Mitch doesn't want to bring it to a vote because he knows Republicans will either anger their voters or the NRA, which can act as their best friend or worst enemy.

Is that Russian front organization still considered a power player? The mind boggles.
