Tit for tat? Is Putin poking us in the eye by saying, "Want to know what it feels like to have enemy troops two steps from your front door?" This is the biggest threat to America by Russia since Cuba invited Russia to open bases there in 1961. Ostensibly it's to train Russian troops and to provide humanitarian aid but of course this is just a smokescreen to getting large numbers of troops and military equipment into Central America. Bay of Pigs all over again? I have a sickening feeling we're a few years away from a nuclear exchange with Russia if Putin is allowed to remain dictator.

"A new agreement between Russia and Nicaragua to provide Russian troops for and in Nicaragua"

With Russian forces set to enter Central America, how will the US respond?

The Russian's are not strong enough to take on the US in it's own backyard, and I am sure the west will be monitoring the situation, just as they are monitoring Chinese influence in the Sandwich Islands.

Russia already has forces in Venezuela, and the forces in Nicaragua are stated to be for training, policing and for emergency purposes, which could mean a lot of things.

Then it’s time to land the 1st Cavalry in Ukraine and tell them it’s hunting season. We can play that game all day long.

is the US allies with Nicaragua ?

There are the big three..China, US and Russia.

From the article:
She noted the law also authorizes troops from the United States, Mexico and other Central American countries for such purposes.

Ortega has been a staunch ally of Russia since his days in the leadership of the 1979 revolution that ousted dictator Anastasio Somoza.

In fact thank the Biden administration for relations with Nicaragua going south.
The US could have used the carrot approach but instead they used the stick...sanctions, restrictions, etc.

The Russian is having a problem with logistical issues invading their neighboring country Ukraine by land. Across a vast Atlantic ocean? good luck with that.

Amateurs talk tactics. Professionals talk logistics.

You all might want to go back and read how the Biden administration upset the apple cart regarding relations with quite a number of countries.

Biden campaigned on being the 'Great Uniter' and it's turned out anything but.
Read up on how the US has strained relations with several countries during 2021.

That should be the real concern here. Russia has been responsible for cyber attacks that have not really done much but irritate so why not train up some guys to do some real damage to our infrastructure?

The Border is wide open thanks to Biden so when our Agents are occupied with a 10,000 strong caravan who is left to watch another spot where a a small but heavily armed army could stroll right in?

I can hear Biden now. He blames the high gas prices on Putin invading Ukraine. If Russia "invades" Nicaragua the Dems will use it as an excuse for mass mail in voting in November.

They never let a good crisis go to waste.
